2023-2024 Hydrology Section Student Subcommittee Application

The AGU Hydrology Section Student Subcommittee (H3S) seeks applications for membership positions. We invite all early career hydrologists to apply, including students, postdocs, and pre-tenure faculty or industry employees, within five years of graduation. We are looking for members who want to bring fresh ideas to H3S or are enthusiastic about supporting existing initiatives. For more information about our existing initiatives and committee, please visit our website: https://agu-h3s.org

Membership is for two years (January 2023 to December 2024). As a member, you will serve on at least one of the committees (each meeting once per month) and participate in monthly full-group meetings.

H3S responsibilities involve:

  1. Active participation in leadership for projects, including professional development, website outreach, social media campaigns, professional development seminars, and/or diversity initiatives.
  2. Attendance at monthly team and subcommittee meetings (or participation with asynchronous tasks when scheduling difficulties arise, such as time zones).

The time commitment is approximately 5 hours per month but can be more, depending on the desired involvement.

Our existing committee members review all applicants. We anonymize each application to avoid bias.
