I've just bought a FUN HOUSE which appears to be in pretty good
shape. However, I have a couple of questions I need some help with:

o The game is registering lots and lots of jaw hits. Putting it
into switch test mode, just tapping the table sets off the jaw
opto. Before I do anything else, does anyone have any words of
wisdom concerning this?

o What exactly should the entrance of the ramp look like? Should
there be any rubber on the pillars? The left pillar appears to
have a recess in the middle for a piece of rubber, is this right,
or do I have a duff bit here?

Rudy's Jaw is an opto -- I'm willing to bet you either have a loose
diode or detector (the part itself on the little board, not the board)
or a loose wire to one of the board. There are four wires -- DC voltage
and ground to the emitter (which you can check with a Radio Shack infrared
detector card) and +12vdc/the output from the detector.

There should probably be rubber -- very rarely does Williams put bare metal
posts in front of ramps as that's a high impact zone ...

groan ... bloody optos..

Sorry, first thing to do is get to the opto (ie, the actual LEDs) and clean
them with a bit of tissue or something.

If it still acts up, change are the legs on one of the LED's is broken, it
usually happens to the White one, so try changing this one first..

Yeah, resolder the wire that's come loose. I've had this happen a couple of
times and it's aways the opto bit to the right of Rudy (and it's a real pain
to get at). The vibrations must gradually weaken the solder there.
