Selcuk Bayin

About the author

Born in Ankara-Turkey (1951), Selcuk Bayin received his BS (74) from METU, Ankara, Turkey and his MS (76) and PhD (79) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, US. After spending a year at the University of Victoria, BC, Canada as a postdoctoral fellow, he joined METU as an Assistant Professor of Physics (1981), where he became a full Professor (1993). He is a member of the American Physical Society. His research mainly focuses on cosmology, the general theory of relativity, and applications of fractional calculus. He acts as referee (~35/yrs) for journals like the Physical Review Letters, Physical Review A and D, and E, etc. Besides numerous articles published in scientific journals, he is the author of Mathematical Methods in Science and Engineering, second edition (2018), and Essentials of Mathematical Methods in Science and Engineering, second edition (2019), both published by Wiley (http://www.wiley.com).
