Job Description

 

Position Title: Intern Medical Representative

Department/program: Income Generating Activities (IGA)

Level: TBD

Reports to: IGA Director

Based in: Addis Ababa, Regional Towns

Required number: Two

Duration of contract: 1 year contract, with possible extension based on performance and availability of funds.

Remuneration: As per organization pay scale plus other PSI/Ethiopia staff benefits.

We are looking for an intern medical representative who is responsible to intensify demand of our products and increase volume of sales, boost product awareness, build brand equity and reputation of our company.

Essential Functions:

·          Assist on review of product dossiers and latest scientific literature to develop relevant scientific information for medical detailing, design, and production of effective promotional materials, and to conduct product knowledge trainings.

·         Conduct compliant promotional medical detailing, continuing medical educations, round table discussions, one to one meetings, etc. with health care professionals to generate prescriptions and oral recommendations to increase demand for our products.

·         Adopt and engage key opinion leaders for various events like scientific conferences, product launch events, continuing medical educations, educational material development etc. to provide service on different activities and tasks.

·         Provide scientific updates and trainings to internal and external stakeholders on various subject matters like product knowledge, selling skill, new guidelines, literature review on latest scientific developments, etc.

·         Professionally represent PSI Ethiopia in various platforms and events to build company reputation and visibility.

·         Leverage on use of digital platforms for promotion of products, increase visibility and addressing queries of customers.

·         Design and implement various effective demand generation tools and objectively drive sales of products.

·         Collaborate with commercial team on preparation of channel strategies, route to market plans, and other related documents.

·         Support commercial team by chasing tender businesses opportunities, preparing tender documents, and participating in all relevant tenders.

·         Exercises all efforts to control costs and expenses and proactively monitor competition and market equilibrium.

·         Conduct market assessment and research to aid evidence-based decision making.

·         Prepare and submit quality periodic plans and reports, analyze data and generate meaningful information to aid decision making.

·         Collaborate with the team to develop marketing plans and brand plans, and ensure their effective implementations.

·         Collaborate with the team on development of launch plans for launch products/services and ensures their effective execution.

·         Vigilantly follow up on regulatory requirements and communications, and timely notify and address queries accordingly.

·         Generate new ideas and support on business incubation activities for product development and relevant partnerships.

·         Assist the IGA director and execute other tasks assigned by the director.

Job Requirements

Your Background

Qualifications:

·         Formal education of bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm).

·         Bachelor and/or master’s degree in business administration, marketing, management or related field is a plus.

·         A minimum of 1 year related work experience.

·         Desirable skills including selling skill, effective communication skill, presentation skill, MS-Office.

·      Built customers relationship.

·      Relevant documents developed.

·      Achievement of sales targets and annual objectives.

·      Launch effectiveness.

·      Reasonable management of costs and expenses for business profitability.
