HEAD on the beach killer Aleksandras Skirda gets his kicks in jail by murdering prostitutes in a blood-soaked computer game.

Skirda, who tortured, murdered and then mutilated 35-year-old Jolanta Bledaite, spends hours each day acting out his sick fantasies by playing Grand Theft Auto.

The ultra-violent game lets players commit gruesome murders, deal drugs and steal cars.

Skirda, 19, has a PlayStation in his cell at Edinburgh's Saughton jail.

And he has used cash sent by relatives in his native Lithuania to buy games including Grand Theft Auto and Mortal Kombat.

Skirda has been living in fear in Saughton after he was beaten up by cons disgusted at his crime.

But a jail insider told the Record: "He's happy as Larry now he's got his Playstation.

"He has been playing it constantly. He has Grand Theft Auto, Need for Speed Underground and Mortal Kombat.

"It is terrible that he is allowed to play a game like Grand Theft Auto. I'm sure his victim's family would be sickened to hear that he can act out his fantasies and it's allowed under the rules."

The source added: "Skirda has been boasting about getting money sent over from his family. He says he's getting a hi-fi and a CD player next.

"You would never know what he did to come in here. He is the lowest of the low. It makes me sick.

"Everyone is disgusted by Skirda and what he did to that poor girl. He murdered a defenceless lassie. He is pure evil."

Skirda's PlayStation helps him while away the hours as he cowers in his cell to avoid his fellow prisoners.

His arrogant attitude has made him a hate figure in Saughton and has already earned him a vicious beating from two young inmates.

After the attack, Skirda started refusing to leave his cell except for meals and showers.

Skirda smothered fellow countrywoman Jolanta in her home in Brechin, Angus, in March after torturing her with a knife to force her to reveal her bank card number.

He then dismembered her body and threw her head, hands and torso into the sea. Two young sisters, aged eight and 11, found Jolanta's head in a plastic bag on Arbroath beach.

Skirda is due to be sentenced to life in jail early next year.

He will learn his fate after another Lithuanian, Vitas Plytnykas, 41, is tried for Jolanta's murder. Plytnykas denies all charges and Skirda is expected to give evidence against him.

Grand Theft Auto, developed by Scots-based Rockstar Games, has often been criticised for being too violent.

A 19-year-old sex beast said to be addicted to the game was jailed in Kent last week for attacking women.
