Put that clutch-side mirror hole to use: RAM M10 Mirror Hole Ball Adapter (Yes, it will fit the FJR; M10 x 1.25 pitch) I ordered one yesterday and received an email today saying that stock will be available for shipment after 3/18.
Where is the "hole" for the RAM adapter Marty (and don't say put some hair around it) :yahoo:
Ooooooo, but it was so tempting..! ;) On a Gen II "A" model, look just between the clutch fluid reservoir and hand grip. You should see a small, round black plastic cap. Pry that off and there it is!

Your da man, thanks Marty...Been looking for something like that to mount the SPOT GPS tracker thingy.

Just sent you an e mail young Sir!

Watcha going to hold on that RAM mount, your banana?

Hey, thanks for the bolts, they got here yesterday and are holding my tail-rack on. You-da-man, er... Monkey!

It's on Gen-I's, too. And there's one on the right-hand side, too. At least on mine.
Thanks, gonna look at that side too, now I hope to have all sorts of things hanging off my bike for NAFO.

Paging Mr Bates, your son "Master Bates" is waiting at the meeting point :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

I am in one of my moods tonight, must be near a full moon, yikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not simply a banana, a banana cannon..! (And trust me, you do not want to Google that term! ) Actually, that's the perfect place for the GPS. Good height/position (always in eye-line) and within very easy reach.

You're welcome! We can't have your tail-rack just hanging loose now, can we? ;)

Question is...............................................

do you shave it?

thanks again, gunny.

Bet you could figure out a way to attach THIS to it! Much more practical than a GPS unit.

Last week I ordered one of these https://murpskits.com/catalog/product_info....71571d4ebfe3c3e from Murphs Kits (If you ever owned a Concours you know about him)... Oh well, probably should have checked the RAM site first since this is cheaper.

That is a great find. I was wondering how I was going to mount my Garmin Quest and you solved that issue. Thanks!

That spot/ram ball is probably in the way of the J&M cb / weather radio control unit I was planning on installing (cb bracket uses 2 screws from clutch res.).

Maybe a 2 inch extention will work for ram ball.

GPS will be conected to cb, which transmits both to helmet speakers

Save your money. Mine showed up today and it doesn't fit. The one that I ordered from Murphs does fit however.

Are you postive that you ordered the correct item..?? The part number is RAM-B-349U (M10 Mirror Hole Ball). According to RAM (whom I spoke with on Friday), it's not even going to ship until late this week. If the one from Murph's fits, the one from RAM should fit too; thread size is identical... Interesting.

So what's not fitting? Is it not screwing into the hole, or the ball is too big for the area once it snugs down (measured it and it shouldn't be...) If it's the former, then I'm wondering if they just didn't send you the wrong part; one of the standard balls with SAE threads. (RAM seems to pass its order fulfillment through one of its regional dealers or distributors. Case in point: my order is coming from some outfit named custommounts.com) Out of curiosity, see if the threads match up to the adapter you got from Murph's. Then we'll know.

I suppose I"ll just have to wait until mine arrives to find out for sure...
