1. What is Polyurethane flooring?

Polyurethane is a thermosetting polymer that has been used for many years as a protective & decorative coat for concrete floors.

Concrete floors are coated with liquid Polyurethane to make them durable & well maintained, as they can be vulnerable to different kinds of physical damage. Polyurethane flooring also acts as a waterproofing layer to prevent concrete (substrate) cracks from moving through the coating and appearing on the surface.

• Food & Beverage Facility: Polyurethanes are the preferred choice in food industries that have exposure to lactic acids. Epoxies may experience corrosion and yellowing under such conditions.
• Multi-storey Car Parks: This space requires flooring that is Flexible, Durable, Waterproof, Abrasion, Slip & Wear Resistant. PU Flooring certainly fits all of these criteria. Epoxy coating would fail under such conditions.
• Cold Storage Facilities: The elasticity of PU floors makes them a preferred choice in freezing chambers where the storage temperature can reach -30 degrees Celsius (-22 F).
• Commercial Flooring: PU Floorings are slip-resistant. It provides extra traction to prevent residents and visitors from falling.
