Millfield School is looking to recruit a Specialist Urban and Street Dance Coach from September 2022
Millfield is an independent boarding school set in the heart of Somerset. We cater for approximately 1300 pupils, aged 13 to 18, all of whom engage in sport and physical activities. We have outstanding facilities and a vibrant multisport environment.
The Specialist Coach will design and deliver specialist urban and street dance coaching and support to Millfield Dance Programme as part of the wider Millfield sport provision.
We are looking for someone with a dynamic and engaging teaching style who has experience of working with school age students. The Specialist Urban Dance Coach will coach across all age groups from year 9 to 13 at senior. There is also the opportunity to deliver 1 or 2 sessions per week at the prep school. The successful candidate will have professional dance/teaching experience in Urban and Street Dance styles. We are looking for an individual who has the ability to inspire and engage students in dance through detailed knowledge and a passion for dance in education.
The hours for this role are up to 6 hours per week, with some hours being at the Prep School in Glastonbury. There is a requirement for the candidate to work a Wednesday, however days can be flexible if required. Dance sessions are held between the hours of 12 -2pm and 4-6pm. This is a term time only position, the hourly rate is £21.25.
The co-curricular programme is a vital part of Millfield’s unique offer and we are extremely proud of our current and former students’ sporting success. The person who takes on this role will play a key part in helping to maintain Millfield’s reputation for sporting brilliance.
