Finishing the Year Strong with Good Attendance

This week I am delivering my weekly message with Board of Education Vice President Cynthia Elliott. Cynthia and I want to remind everyone about the importance of good attendance leading up to the end of the school year. It is so important for our scholars to be present and show up for class, whether they are learning in-person or online.  

COVID Vaccinations Available for Students 12 Years of Age and Older

New York State announced it has made appointments available for children as young as 12 years old to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Please visit Monroe County's website to schedule an appointment. A parent, guardian, or caregiver must be with the child at the time of the appointment, and a parent or guardian must provide consent for vaccination. 

Board of Education Approves the '21 - '22 RCSD Budget

On Monday, the Board of Education approved the 2021-2022 RCSD budget. This budget is $986,100,909 dollars, an increase of $58,513,085 dollars from the 2020-2021 budget of $927,587,824 dollars.

The 2021-2022 budget was built upon the District's Strategic Plan, the work incorporated into the 96 recommendations in the District's Academic and Financial Plans developed by the Independent State Monitor, as well as the Consent Decree and Corrective Action Plans for Special Eduation and Bilingual Education.
