Severe thunderstorms hit Oklahoma Saturday for third consecutive day

Another round of storms moved into Oklahoma on Saturday, following two days of severe weather.

SO HERE’S WHAT HERE’S WHAT WE’RE SEEING RIGHT NOW ON THE RADAR. THIS AFTERNOON. IT’S CURRENTLY 6:00. SO FOR THE FIRST TIME AND ABOUT THREE HOURS, WE ARE NOW SEVERE WARNING FREE. THIS STORM STARTED ALL THE WAY DOWN, BASICALLY DOWN BY TEMPLE. IT’S BEEN SEVERE. WARNED THE ENTIRE TIME. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY TORNADO WARNINGS THIS AFTERNOON. IF YOU’RE JUST NOW CHECKING IN AND NOW WE NO LONGER HAVE ANY SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS AS WELL. THAT SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING HAS JUST BEEN DROPPED FOR GUTHRIE AS YOU GO DOWN TOWARDS LUTHER HARRAH, HEAVY RAIN COMING IN NOW IN THE OKC METRO, MOORE, NORMAN, EVEN AS YOU GO OUT TOWARDS SHAWNEE, WE’RE NOT DONE WITH THE RAIN BECAUSE AS YOU LOOK DOWN TO THE SOUTH, WE’RE SEEING MORE CELLS NOW POPPING UP FROM LINDSAY LEXINGTON, WAYNE WANETTE SO WE’RE GOING TO GET MORE RAIN IN HERE. BUT ONCE AGAIN, THE INSTABILITY OVER THE METRO IS MUCH, MUCH LOWER RIGHT NOW COMPARED TO WHAT WE HAD ABOUT 2 TO 3 HOURS AGO WHEN THAT FIRST LINE CAME THROUGH HERE. SO THE INTENSITY IS DECREASING, BUT THE STORMS ARE NOT DECREASING. THEY’RE STILL GOING TO BE ON THE RADAR AS THEY LIFT UP TO THE NORTH. SO, ENID, YOU’RE LOVING THE RAIN THAT’S FALLING OVERHEAD RIGHT NOW, WAKING US. HENNESSY THE RAINS COMING DOWN. KREMLIN HELENA JET, POND CREEK. THIS COMPLEX RIGHT HERE IS MOVING UP TOWARDS PERRY STILLWATER AND PERKINS. THERE’S DEREK. THERE IS MICHAEL. LET ME CHECK BACK IN WITH MICHAEL. MICHAEL LOOKS AT THE RAIN IS NOW LIFTING OUT OF OKLAHOMA COUNTY. YOU WERE ON SOME INTENSE FLOODING THROUGH SOME OF THESE STREETS. JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO. WHAT’S THE SITUATION LOOKING LIKE NOW WHERE YOU ARE? YEAH, YOU’RE LOOKING AT THE BACKSIDE OF THOSE STORMS THAT ARE OVER HERE NEAR LUTHER. WE I THINK A LOT FOR THE MOST PART, A LOT OF THAT FLOODING IS REALLY DIMINISHING. THAT WATER RUNS OFF INTO THE DRAINS PRETTY FAST. BUT THERE’S A LOT OF LIGHTNING WITH THIS STORM OUT AHEAD OF US. BLUE SKIES BACK BEHIND IT TO THE SOUTH. THAT’S LOOKING BACK DOWN IN THE DIRECTION OF SHAWNEE. I KNOW YOU STILL GOT A SMALL STORM KIND OF WEST OF SHAWNEE, BUT DEFINITELY SEEING SOME CLEAR SKIES BACK TO THE SOUTH. THAT’S KIND OF A GOOD SIGN. BUT OUT AHEAD OF US, IT’S STILL VERY, VERY DARK. LOOKING DOWN THE TURNER TURNPIKE AS WE’RE HEADING UP TOWARD LUTHER. AND SO WE’LL MONITOR THE SKIES HERE VERY CLOSELY AROUND THESE STORMS. WATCH FOR ANY LOWERING. THAT’S ONE OF THE THINGS ABOUT TODAY WITH A TROPICAL ENVIRONMENT. YOU HAVE REALLY LOW CLOUD BASES. AND SO YOU CAN SEE A LOT OF THINGS HANGING DOWN, A LOT OF WHAT WE CALL SCARY LOOKING CLOUDS AT TIMES. WE’LL KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE TO SEE IF ANYTHING POPS UP. YOU KNOW, ONE OF THE THINGS WE WERE WATCHING OUT FOR IS KIND OF LAND SPOUTS, WHICH IS A KIND OF A WEAKER VERSION OF A TORNADO, BASICALLY. SO SOMETIMES YOU CAN STILL SEE SOME OF THOSE EVEN WITH WEAKER STORMS IN THIS TYPE OF ENVIRONMENT. THEY DON’T LOOK REAL BIG ON RADAR. BUT SOMETIMES THEY CAN STILL PRODUCE THOSE. YEAH, DEFINITELY. THAT’S GOING TO BE IN THE FORECAST FOR THIS EVENING. AGAIN, TORNADO THREAT IS EXTREMELY LOW FOR THE REST OF THE REST OF THE EVENING HERE WITH THESE STORMS MOVING UP TO THE NORTH. SO TRACKING THIS, THIS HEAVY RAIN FROM COYLE DOWN TO LUTHER MOVING UP TO THE NORTH COMES INTO LANGSTON AT 606. OSU STILLWATER ABOUT 650. IT’S ABOUT 45 MINUTES FROM NOW. BILL’S CORNER EAST OF PERRY AT ABOUT 714. AND THEN WE GET TOWARDS MARLAND AND WHITE EAGLE LAST NIGHT YOU WERE WORRIED ABOUT TORNADOES. TONIGHT WE’RE JUST WATCHING HEAVY RAIN WITH THIS LIFTING UP TO THE NORTH. BUT I DO WANT TO EMPHASIZE JUST THE ENVIRONMENT THAT WE HAVE OVER OKLAHOMA THIS EVENING IS NOT WHAT WE WERE SEEING. 48 HOURS AGO WHEN WE HAD ALL THE TORNADOES SOUTH OF OKC, TORNADO, VERY, VERY LOW. FEEL FREE. YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TONIGHT AS YOU GO OUT AND JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE AT LEAST WAYS TO RECEIVE WEATHER ALERTS SHOULD ANY TYPE OF LOCALIZED FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED. BUT OTHERWISE, AGAIN, THE RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER IS GOING TO BE EXTREME LOW. WE’RE GOING TO TRACK MORE RAIN AS WE GO INTO THE OVERNIGHT METEOROLOGIST SA
