ASUS Small Form Factor PC with up to RTX 4070 SUPER

The company has quietly upgraded its ROG C22CH system.

In China, gamers now have the option to purchase an even speedier version of the 10-liter desktop PC. ASUS is presenting its ROG C22CH or ROC Ice Blade X (its name in the Chinese market), equipped with an upgraded GPU. The company has introduced a version featuring the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, providing a small GPU upgrade.

As a reminder, RTX 4070 SUPER features 7168 CUDA cores instead of 5888 on the original model. NVIDIA did not change the memory specs of 12GB GDDR6X, however the card now runs with a higher TDP of 225W (+25W). This power increase was within the cooling capability of the ROG SFF PC.

The release of this upgraded SFF ROG PC was timed with Intel’s 14th Gen Core series launch. This system is offered with either a Core i7-14700KF or Core i9-14900KF processor, paired with either GeForce RTX 4060 Ti or RTX 4070 graphics. The latter is now also available in a SUPER variant, although it remains based on the same DUAL OC model.

The pricing details reveal that the Core i7-14700KF variant, bundled with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced at 13,999 RMB (~$1,970 USD). Meanwhile, the Core i9-14900KF version with identical specifications is listed at 15,999 RMB (~$2,250). These are indeed very high prices, but one must remember that the SFF gaming market is still seen as niche and options with ability to swap components are even more limited.

The ROG C22CH can be viewed as a spiritual successor to the NUC 13 Extreme, albeit with some differences. The NUC 13 Extreme was a slightly larger system at 14 liters, capable of supporting 12-inch long GPUs. Initially, Intel sold this desktop PC with ASUS TUF graphics cards. Intel eventually discontinued the NUC series and transferred the license to ASUS, who now exclusively manage the brand.

ASUS doesn’t seem eager to continue the series as it was under Intel’s control. Instead, they have opted to market them under their ROG gaming brand, clearly at a higher price point.
