The starting point for this year's "World Naked Bike Ride" event in Oregon has been announced.

The ride will start at Peninsula Park in North Portland on July 30 at 9 p.m. EDT.

The Naked Bike Ride is a worldwide bike ride that looks to raise awareness of the vulnerability of cyclists and the dependence on pollution-based transport.

"We face automobile traffic with our naked bodies as the best way of defending our dignity and exposing the unique dangers faced by cyclists and pedestrians as well as the negative consequences we all face due to dependence on oil, and other forms of non-renewable energy," according to the organization's website.

The annual ride was postponed through the coronavirus pandemic. Organizers are asking people not to travel to Portland “just to ride naked.”

While the starting point was made known, the rest of the route won't be revealed until the ride is underway.

Now, cyclists are gearing up to take part in 2022.

The World Naked Bike Ride website notes that it is the "craziest, wildest, most insane event" of the year.
