Back Story:

Imagine the stress of new parents when they are told their child will not develop like other children. Imagine not knowing how to care for children with intellectual/developmental risks, delays, or disabilities. Then imagine parents whose child is evaluated early and their relief when learning their concerns are short-term. Or, in circumstances that require lifespan services, parents and caregivers learn that Alta Mira Specialized Family Services Inc. supports the IDD community with lifespan services.

Annual Appeal: On June 1, 2023, we began our drive to raise $250,000.00 by December 31, 2024. Our signature event to support our drive,  Alta Mira Drives for IDD 2024, is scheduled for September 18, 2024. The Tournament & Silent Auction held at TOPGOLF is an event where everyone can play regardless of skill. Calls for Sponsors and Golf Teams will go out on April 1, 2024. If you and your colleagues enjoy having fun and supporting a good cause, please consider sponsoring or fielding a team! ICYMI – Last year’s event topped previously held events in income, community awareness, and visibility of the IDD community. Additionally, Hole Sponsors, Level-Sponsors, and a high-rated television Exclusive Media Sponsor were added, increasing the visibility of the event in the greater Albuquerque Metro area and the state of New Mexico. All sponsor levels will return this year, and we may add one or two more!

We can’t do it without you. Alta Mira relies on state funds and grants, which only go so far. Your support of our Annual Appeal ensures that we continue providing services and supports to our communities through community support and fundraising. Donating and supporting our agency considerably impacts the IDD community through Alt Mira’s lifespan services.

Alta Mira Drives for IDD 2024 is Wednesday evening, September 18, 2024. Time: 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mix and Mingle begins at 5:30 PM. The Tournament begins at 6:00 PM. The Tournament & Silent Auction held at TOPGOLF is an event where everyone can play regardless of skill. We are looking for organizations and individuals to support this incredible effort. Event Timeline

• 5:30 – 6:00 PM Guests arrive. Enjoy the Mix and Mingle with Guest Host + Preview Silent Auction and Raffle + Queso/Guacamole/Salsa/Tortilla Chips refreshments;
• 6:00 – 6:15 PM warm-up and practice;
• 6:15 – 6:30 PM announcements, game rules, and demonstration;
• 6:30 – 8:30 PM tournament + special holes and contests;
• 6:00 – 9:00 PM raffle/silent auction;
• 6:30 – 8:00 PM Fajita Fiesta buffet service – available for 90 minutes;
• 8:30 – 9:00 PM Winners announced, thank you and closing statements;
• Total Gameplay 3 hours, two rounds
