Good morning everyone!

I know this is a bit of a hotbutton subject for some, but does anyone know of a "swing mod" for the Stryker 955? I'm trying to get a bit more average power out of one. I know with the diode/resistor combo on the AM regulator section of a Galaxy/Ranger/Connex does help out considerably with the average output, and was wondering if there was something similar to this for the 955, to help keep the output up, even when keying the radio lower.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you sir! I knew surely one of you guys here would know.

Do you happen to have any more details on how to do it?

Over the years I had several radio's with the non-volted final version of the NPC. They sounded great and I was a big fan of that mod. That said I really think the 955 has such good audio I don't really know if it needs it.

Yes, you can.
C68 is the spot you connect 100 Ohm/1n4148 combo. As marked on the attached image.
Also I would disable AM limiter, NPC will take care about it. Remove D28 for that.

Dumb question, I have never removed one of these surface mounted components. I assume just unsolder with a fine tip soldering iron? They look like they would just pop off the board because they are so small.

I ran into the same thing last week when sp5it was helping me with the Lincoln II NPC and what I did for removal is changed out for a wide flat tip that was the same width as the SMT resistor and kind of did it from the side while applying slight pressure and it heated both sides and it popped out very quickly. Trying to find that spec of a part afterwards is the hard part. It's literally no bigger than the dirt from under a fingernail.
