All I want is revenge.

But I’m afraid it will destroy me because I’m not a monster.

Or maybe I am.

And that’s thanks to Doctor Alanna Norton.

She’s tortured me.

She’s made me forget who I am.

And she’s done all this in the name of love.

But the love I feel for my son, who was stolen from me, will triumph. I won’t accept any other outcome.

There is another love which I will fight for—Dutch Atwood.

But what I find…the sting of betrayal lingers. I look at Dutch through new eyes; he doesn’t trust me, and I don’t trust him.

I’m faced with so many scenarios—I wish I knew how this story ends so I can make the right choice.

But there is no right in the hand I was dealt.

Alanna wants love so badly, so I intend to show her what true love looks like, because the only thing that matters is getting out of here…but not before I take from Alanna what she took from me.

Her heart.

If you thought Heart Sick was mind blowing-ly captivating, given the amazing opener she delivered in the start of the explosive Heart Memory Transfer duet series.
Well then let me tell you to think again, because it doesn't compare to what was delivered in Love Sick, the final chapter of the duet series.
The continuation of Luna and Dutch’s story had you navigating through many shocking surprises from all the twists and turns that Monica James had us stumbling upon.
All in this topsy, turvy, dark and deviantly, depraved rollercoaster she had us riding upon, that made it a Top Fav Read of 2023 of mine!

Picking right on up from the cliffhanger ending in Heart Sick, Monica had us diving back headfirst into the continuation of Luna and Dutch’s story with Love Sick.

Just when Monica had me thinking it could not get anymore - pardon my language - F*CKED UP, she proved me wrong. And that too on EPIC proportions.
Not only did she up the ante, but she took it to a whole other world, let alone level.
This ride that was Luna and Dutch’s journey took you through the king of all labyrinths, considering the additions of so many more ups, downs and major twists and turns that came and hit you out of nowhere from the narrative being so unexpected at times. Resulting in Monica keeping you on your toes, whilst bringing you to the edge of your seat, biting your nails, with your heart practically zooming in anticipation of what's to come.

In nearly every corner, there seemed to be explosions, one after another, some of EPIC proportions, shocking your mind and leaving you stunned from the revelations made and disclosed. Bringing the story to an all new high, whilst leaving you in a tizzy, from your mind reeling in trying to comprehend it all and put together the puzzle pieces that was Luna and Dutch's complex story.

On top of that, there was also the case of the exploration through the many emotions that Monica continuously poured out from each and every page, showcasing an in-depth look and feel for the characters. Considering the raw, nitty grittiness of their feelings that were exposed to us, courtesy of their individual POVs. Making it a real page turner from being able to connect to the characters on a deeper level, from understanding and feeling what they were experiencing and going through, considering the many highs and lows in Luna and Dutch's journey.
It definitely had me choked up, hyperventilating, internally screaming and freaking out all throughout.

Luna and Dutch’s story may have reeled me in Heart Sick, but with Love Sick, this book had me hook, line and sinker. Leading to falling down the abyss that was this crazy, adventurous, twisted and depraved, action packed, thrilling, dark romance.
Luna and Dutch had entrapped you with not only the tumultuous path to their chaotic love story.
But also the journey of self discovery, healing, growing and recovery, given the trials and tribulations they faced and were put through in their own individual ways. Whilst testing their strength due to the hardships they endured.
Ultimately helping them come to terms with themselves, their life and the answers they had been searching for, which along the way had their paths align in interconnecting, given their shared goals that brought them back to one another and overcome all that needed to be together.

In the end, Monica James came through with delivering a EPICALLY phenomenal finale to the end of Luna and Dutch’s story.
Love Sick was hands down spectacularly amazing, with an emotionally charged, drama packed, suspenseful filled, psychological thriller that in all honesty went above and beyond my expectations.
Ultimately making it not only a 5 ⭐️ read for me, but also landing in my Top Fav Reads of 2023!

Memory Heart Transfer book 2

Following the events in ‘Heart Sick’, Luna has been left with shattered memories and as she puts the pieces back together one thing is for certain, Dr Alana Norton must pay. Alana must pay for all the horrible acts she has committed and Luna wants one thing, revenge. Revenge for the vile, torturous acts she’s committed but most of all, revenge for the death of her son Misha. But one thing is also certain, Dutch has betrayed Luna, and although she feels the love there, can they ever trust each other again?

I absolutely loved this book and this duet. It started off with a bang and my girl Monica is one sick individual and I love her for it. This story is very different and refreshing and will keep you interested and engaged. I really enjoyed the ride this duet took me on and the places we visited, even though they weren’t places you would want to visit lol. This one will hold a special place in my heart and memories and stay there, just like all of Monica’s stories because she is incredibly gifted and writes so well and her stories are always so vividly captured. I would also like to give a special thank to Monica James because while reading this book, I was able to be distracted from my nerve pain for a little while which was nice 💋 xoxo

To tell you that I fell in love with Monica James' would be an understatement. She drew me into an entirely different world with this duet.
I'd been waiting for Love Sick since the second I had finished Heart Sick earlier this year, and Monica just broke through all my expectations and delivered a smutty gothic romance that makes your mind spin.
The intense emotions, the madness between these pages and the raging connections made me go manic with an obsession for Dutch & Luna's love.
This was so much more than what I expected, and I devoured every word.
This duet is dark, gory, wild, and will surely make you ask yourself a million times why you picked it up. And this finish, will set your world on fire with all the revelations made.
It's maddening and breathtaking in the same second.
These characters possessed a connection that could be felt in your damn soul.
I loved it all.
Be ready for insanity when you pick up this one.
Once you're in , you'll never be able to leave. 🤯
monica james, you slayed, queen🥹.

Wooooo Monica! My gooodddddd…

That was one hell of a finale for Dutch and Luna. Surprising and unexpected, I constantly found myself on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding and having to remind myself to breath. There is torture and beauty in not knowing how a story will go and Monica writes this perfectly. I can’t even count how many times I had “what the fuck” moments.

I LOVE Monica’s brand of madness and love.

Dutch and Luna’s story is completely different than anything I have ever read. So many crazy, wild, and shocking moments wrapped in its own brand of darkness. But through it all, one thing has stuck with me…

What wouldn’t I do for love?

Even more BONKERS than Heart Sick!

Buckle up for a wild ride with this deranged book! From start to finish, it's an absolute rollercoaster of emotions and revelations. The story starts off at a rapid-fire pace and it escalates into an unputdownable frenzy. Prepare to have your sanity tested as you dive into the twisted plot, constantly questioning the thin line between sane and insane.

The writing style is easy to read, however the storyline is crafted with multiple twists, making it an engaging experience that requires your focused attention. Every page is filled with suspense, leaving you on the edge of your seat, anxious to uncover the truth. The characters are a standout aspect of this book, each one with a distinct personality that leaves a lasting impression. Some are unhinged (and BONKERS), yet their presence is undeniably interesting.

If you're a fan of psychological thrillers with a medium-burn pace, this book is an absolute must-read. Be prepared for a riveting story that is at times disturbing but keeps you glued to the pages until the very end. Just a fair warning, though—once you finish, you'll be wanting to discuss the Jonathan in the room 😬

WOW! This was a very interesting second book in the duet.
The first book was incredibly interesting and exciting.
This second book was even more insane than the first one.
It was a very gory affair and certainly not for everyone, so my warning is, be careful, read the warning before you start the book.

This book picks up where the first book ended.
I don't know what to tell you without spoiling this story.

It's a very dark, suspenseful, filled with constant states of anxiety and many moments filled with horror story. I wouldn't call it a horror story, but a very bloody and emotional one.

The crazy events, creepy atmosphere, and the "insane" 😉 environment make it a page-turner you can't stop reading even if you wanted.

It's a unique love story that overcomes even the biggest and meanest obstacles.

It's not a standalone series. You must read Book 1 before reading this book.

So buckle up and enjoy (at your own risk 😉) like I enjoyed this wind ride 🤩

2/5 🌶️

This is only my second book by Monica James, but I am absolutely obsessed with her brand of unhinged. This book had me cringing and cackling for pretty much the entire ride. It wasn't super spicy, but instead a story of two people finding acceptance with their pasts and love with each other, during an unhinged situation.

Please be aware of trigger warnings and that Monica's are a tad vague. This book is messed up in so many ways and includes some defiling of a corpse, bloody deaths, and some questionable actions by MCs in the name of survival. If you enjoyed the first book, you'll probably be fine, but it is darker than Heart Sick.

I really enjoyed the side characters and learning more about Luna's background and how it entertwined with them. Kyle, Dominic, Joy and Johnathan all had interesting parts to play in Love Sick.

There was action and suspense from beginning to end. I wasn't even sure if this wasn't a trilogy until the epilogue because it ends with quite a bang. But somehow it still felt nice and wrapped up and I really loved the epilogue. Dutch and Luna had such an unlikely love, but it worked so well for them and made this story unique and beautiful.

YES! YES! YES!

Cue all the accolades and applause for Monica!!

HOT DAMN!! Monica, you have blown me away with this duet.

Love Sick is the continuation of Heart Sick and conclusion to this duet.  And god damn, it was worth the wild and chaotic ride.

This duet is like nothing I have read before and Monica's delivery of this story is superb. I was enraptured from the start and no matter how disturbing the scene became, I was all in!!

“In every book, every reader wants to know why… why did the villain do what they did? They want to know their backstory to know why they’re the bad guy”

GAH!!  This book, this duet, was insane in the best ways. I could not get enough of it.

Luna and Dutch's story is heartbreakingly beautiful.

Just go read it but heed the trigger warnings if you are sensitive to certain things.

This was one hell of a ride. I was shocked right away in chapter 1 and the wild ride didn’t stop until the last chapter.

Dutch and Lunas story is tragic and unhïnged and beautiful. I couldn’t read this fast enough and at times even though it was really dark and twisted I was captivated and needed to know how the story played out.

Alanna was one crazy unhïnged villain and I truly never felt bad for her throughout the story. Her “father” was another terribly villain in this book and i possibly hated him more than Alanna. I was annoyed with Dutch a few times when he sympathized with her, but eventually he realized the terrible person she really was.

Lunas story broke my heart. I think I sympathized with her a lot because I am a mom too and I could see her struggle with losing Misha and realizing all the secrets he kept from her. Reading about her undying love for him was sad, but even in death she was a good mom to him. I can’t give much away without spoiling it, but I’m really happy with how Monica wrapped the story up. I love that even in the darkest moments Luna and Dutch knew they loved each other.

“I will fight for you,” Dutch says, and I know he means my soul, my sanity.

Love Sick stated where Heart Sick ended. This book was like a car crash you don’t want to look but you can’t help but look.

This book drew me in with its twist and unbelievable moments. This tale took you on an adventure of love but also twists that had me baffled and unbelievably surprises that were so unexpected.

This book is definitely a dark romance. Dutch and Luna’s story was incredible well written with enough twist that I’m not sure my head is on straight yet. 🤣. I devoured this book just to see what was going to happen next. I do have to say the book ended perfectly for Dutch and Luna’s story and as I expected which I loved.

This book grabbed me in a chokehold and did not let go.....even days after finishing I'm still processing and thinking about every interaction....every conversation....every moment. There are twists. There are turns. There are zigs and there are zags. This duet will have you questioning your beliefs and will have you rooting for justice and love....because when it comes down to it what are we without love....??
I devoured this book...Monica made me feel like I was there for every moment of this journey. Luna and Dutch's story is breathtaking in all its agony and all of its ups, downs and sideways. A one sitting read!!!!

Holy f*ck, Monica!! Girl, you know what you do.

This ending to the Heart Transfer duet was intense AF. I was equal parts enthralled and alernating between eyes wide open, OMG, OMG, OMG, and WTF. It was a freakin' trip, I tell you.

Dutch and Luna continued to struggle through the madness they were thrust into in Heart Sick. As they questioned their sanity, I was unsure what was real and what was a figment of their drug addled brains.

There were so many twists and turns, and throught it all the overwhelming love that Dutch and Luna had for each other was front and center, despite several setbacks. Would their love win over their need for revenge?was a question that I asked myself as the story unfolded.

This is a very dark, macabre story, so proceed with caution. You've been warned.

Love Sick is the conclusion to Monica James Heart Memory Transfer duet and what a conclusion it is!

Dutch and Luna‘s ending was well deserved after what they went through at the hands of the crazy Doctor Alanna.
Those two deserve everything and the world.

I can‘t even fathom what is going through Monica James mind while writing this book! I couldn‘t believe some of the things that happened and I definitely wanted to hit dutch a few times!

Luna and Dutch’s story is a dark, twisted ride that kept the shocking surprises coming throughout. The first book in this duet- ʜᴇᴀʀᴛ sɪᴄᴋ, was just as compelling, beautifully written and disturbed as this book. The first book left on quite the jaw dropping cliffhanger.
In this book we slowly get the answers that had me going crazy to know, and it is a wild and demented experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This macabre story is not for everyone, I absolutely loved every disturbing, grotesque aspect and I appreciated a very unconventional yet soulful love story.
There’s a lot going on in this book, so many people and motives are involved. I think the pace was great and it flowed well. I never felt lost in the story with the exception of when it’s very purposeful. The tension and anticipation it created was fabulous. The twists and turns made sense and were intriguing. The secondary characters are differing levels of innocent to devilishly evil. They add so much to the story, I had a sense of unease about everyone never knowing who to trust or if the rug was about to be pulled out from underneath me yet again.
For the reader willing to read something dark and twisted I highly recommend this book and duet. It’s so unique, it is written in a darkly romantic style and it is very disturbing. (I won’t sugar coat that aspect.)
This is a duet that I’ll never forget, I’ll recommend it and it will go on my favorite’s list.

Uhm, wow. That was a wild ride. I knew it would be based on the first half of this duet but nothing played out like I thought it would, everyone was pretty unhinged, and the twists and turns had me GASPING. But I loved it. I loved the dark depravity and the toxic connections and how Monica tied this all together up in a nice little bloody bow at the end was pure perfection. I could not put this book down–from chapter 1 (CHAPTER ONE, WOW) to the very end–and I’m honestly a little sad that it’s over. I am, however, beaming at Luna and Dutch finding their happily ever after after that fucked up ride in Hell.

Dutch and Luna were just as fantastic as they were in book one, though this was decidedly darker and they both had to engage in some very...questionable...actions in the name of survival and protecting one another. I loved that we got a deeper look into our side characters here too, though, especially Alanna. Nothing here was truly black or white but everyone was truly messed up by the twisted web of sick love that brought them together.

This had me on the very edge of my seat until the final page and when it ended, I still wasn’t sure it was over. The epilogue wrapped everything up nicely, though, and while Dutch and Luna certainly don’t have the most conventional love, I really was captivated by their story and was utterly bursting with happiness for them by the end. Their love was their own regardless of circumstances or how it was perceived by the rest of the world and I really loved that about them.

This book was exceedingly dark and there were moments where I was sure we had crossed into the horror erotica genre. But the morbid humor always brought me back and there were times that I was cackling at not only the lunacy of the situation but at the jokes our MCs made to get themselves through. Monica is an epic story teller and while this was my first duet by her, it certainly will not be my last.

I just finished diving into the world of Love Sick, and let me tell you, it's been quite the ride! This duet had me hooked from the very first page, and I couldn't put it down until I reached the very end.

First things first, let's talk about the characters. Luna and Dutch are so incredibly well-written and relatable. I found myself instantly connecting with the FMC and feeling her every emotion. The chemistry between the main characters is off-the-charts, making my heart race with anticipation. Monica really knows how to create that electric tension that keeps you glued to the pages.

Speaking of pages, the writing style is addictive. It's like Monica has this magical power to make words come alive. The descriptions are so vivid and evocative, I felt like I was right there with the characters, experiencing their every joy and heartache. The emotions in this book are intense, guys. I laughed, I cried, and I may have thrown the book across the room a few times (in a good way, I promise!).

The plot is a rollercoaster of emotions and surprises. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, Monica would throw in a twist that left me gasping. It's a wild journey filled with love, sacrifice, and those messy, complicated choices that we all face in life. I was on the edge of my seat, flipping pages like a maniac, eager to see what would happen next.

Now, I'll be honest with you, there were a couple of moments where the pacing felt a bit uneven. But let me tell you, it didn't dampen my enthusiasm one bit. Luna and Dutch's story is still an incredible read that will tug at your heartstrings and make you believe in the power of love.

So, grab a cosy blanket, a cup of your favourite beverage, and get ready to be swept away by Luna and Dutch. Monica has created a captivating story that will leave you with a book hangover and a craving for more of her amazing writing. This one is a definite must-read for fans of passionate, emotional romance.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

This is the second book in the Heart Memory Transfer Duet. It is the second book and you have to have read Heart Sick or you are going to be so lost if you pick this book up. The series is a dark romance and you will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. This book picks up right where we left off in Heart Sick and things for Luna and Dutch/Bowie have taken a turn and I sit her at a loss of how to review this book and not give something away. Mission impossible as I sit here and think about it. I can say that we get the answers we needed and wanted so badly as we all read Heart Sick. There are moments with Alanna , the doctor that are going to freak you out a little. Parkfields hospital is worse than we all knew and Luna and Dutch really go through so much to find the answers they desperately need. Dutch is still hearing the voice of Misha and can't get his music back and music is his life. We meet more characters that play pivotal roles in the story. I tell you this book has to be one of the craziest journeys I have been on in a good while. There are so many things i never saw coming. It is a complicated, terrifying story that has you hooked from the first pages and the entire time you are learning more and putting the pieces together right along with Luna and Dutch. I will advise you to never give up on Luna or Dutch. To go in with a very and I do mean very open mind. I am sure my face in this one part of the book was probably hilarious to see and I gasped so loud I concerned my husband. But there was no way I could explain in three little words what was happening. Buckle up or find a real comfortable spot on the edge of your favorite reading spot. You are going to stay there the entire time.

There really wasn’t a dull moment in this book. From start to finish the reader is thrown back into this crazy, twisted, dark, and macabre story of love and heartbreak. Love Sick is book two in the Heart Memory Transfer duet, and picks up right after the unfortunate events at the end of Heart Sick.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚—𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒅𝒚.”

There were still so many questions and unknowns going into this book. It was truly like a twisted soap opera, if soap operas included psychopaths and gory scenes. Maybe they do? Holy hell though, there were so many players involved in this tale of death and deceit. Dutch and Luna seemed to be two unfortunate people who found themselves involved in other people’s lunacy. They were brought together by a strange chain of events and their undeniable love towards each other was put to the test a few times.

When tragedy and darkness surround you, you tend to embrace it after a while. That is if you are a fighter like Dutch and Luna certainly were. Each chapter brought a new horror or uncovered a new detail in this intricate web of insanity. Monica made me question every character’s motives at least once and kept me guessing the entire time. You ever watch a horror or thriller movie and the whole damn time you are rooting for the victim(s) to get their revenge and finally end the madness. This was me while reading this entire book.

“𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒍 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈…𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈.”

I will say that I am very pleased with the conclusion of this duet. It was a wild and uniquely twisted ride that I loved through and through. All of my book friends that love a laundry list of TWs, this one is for you.

HOLY HELL! That was one hell of a dark and twisted mind fuck from beginning to end!

My mind has been blown with how incredibly disturbing and deviant the conclusion of Luna and Dutch’s story is. There is layer upon layer of wickedness that slowly crawls out of the pages keeping you on the edge of your seat and completely shocked at how the story concludes. It was one hell of a crazy and unbelievable rollercoaster ride.

Luna and Dutch just can’t catch a break. Dutch is in a bad situation that definitely gave me Annie Wilkes vibes, but with some very gory elements thrown in. How is Dutch going to be able to convince a psycho to let him go? And poor Luna is stuck back in the psych ward with no memory. UGH!!! Where do we go from here? Buckle up because things are about to get CRAZY!!!!

Luna and Dutch’s journey to be together is filled with some incredibly dark and tragic moments, and the closer they get to their happy ever after, the more they get torn apart. They take one step forward and a million steps back. Every step of their journey had my adrenaline pumping and my heart ready to burst out of my chest!! Your not ready for what happens!

Brilliantly written conclusion with some unbelievably intense and heart wrenching moments that had me filled with anxiety and continually questioning what the hell is going on here. There were so many WTF moments that my mind didn’t know what to think. How in the hell were these two going to make it to the end in one piece? Jaw dropping!!

This conclusion is filed with emotional turmoil, heartache, pain, anger, suspense, mind blown twists and some very steamy and utterly delicious and sadistic moments that I could not get enough of.

LOVED IT!!

What. A. Mind. F*€k.
This has to be one of the wildest and most unique duets I’ve ever read…

The suspense that builds from the first book all the way until the very last page of this one is just incredible. Every time I thought I sort of knew what was going on, why someone was doing something, who was doing what, or what was going to happen next things would do a 180 and go in the opposite direction than I expected. But it was never obvious that things were fixing to get turned around so it was even more entertaining to be caught by surprise.

As for the characters - Luna is one of those women that seems sweet on the outside but there is a fierce need to protect and avenge those she cares about. I definitely wouldn’t want to get on her bad side. Dutch is calculating, smart, charming, and can even be a tad manipulative if he needs to be. I loved being inside his head as he worked through all of the possibilities regarding the situation they are in.

There is a little more spice than the first book but some of it is a little… out there? 🫣😅 I don’t really want to say much else about it for a few reasons lol. What I will say is that it takes some time for (the majority of) the spice to really kick into gear and when it does you get a good bit of it. It’s nice and steamy, nothing super wild but good nonetheless.

The ending though? Whoa - the ending was the best part of the whole book! I’m still feeling some type of way about it because it had my heart frozen in fear for a good bit lol but man it was SO good!! Monica really couldn’t have chosen a better way to end this duet.

If you’re looking for a romance that’s a little different from the rest and will have you so engrossed that you fly through it in a matter of hours then you should definitely give this one a chance.

**Always check the TW before reading as this is a dark romance and there will be potential triggers.**

A MINDBLOWING CLUSTERF*CK OF A MESS!!!!
IT WAS EPICALLY BRILLIANT!!!!

I don't know how Monica James continues to do it, but she does. LOVE SICK is the second book in the Heart Memory Transfer Duet, and if you thought Monica took you on a wild ride in Heart Sick, well hold on to your seat because you ain't seen nothing yet!!!

LOVE SICK begins where Heart Sick left off, ensuring Dutch and Luna's story continues with blindsiding revelations, numerous twists and turns, decisions that left me reeling, and suspense that literally had me gripping the edge of my seat. The trigger warnings at the front of the book NEED to be noted, Monica doesn't hold anything back.

Monica leads both her characters and her readers on an emotional rollercoaster through a dark, twisted, depraved, totally insane journey. Along their path is forgiveness, healing, understanding, and love. Dutch and Luna held me captivated with their journey, it was not an easy one to traverse but their inner strength shone brightly.

Monica has produced a dark psychological thriller/suspense romance that was as horrific as it was beautiful. An unputdownable read that shows love really does conquer all. I literally cannot put into words just how BRILLIANT this duet is ... read it and find out for yourself. Monica has once again turned her words into an EPIC MASTERPIECE.

From the first word of Heart Sick (book 1, Heart Memory Transfer), I knew I would be hooked by Dutch and Luna. Monica wrote an exquisitely beautiful yet haunting storyline. Now, jumping to Love Sick, book two, Ms. James has continued with this pattern of mind-blowing narrative, more immense twists, turns, and over-the-top displays of love, affection, and adoration.

Love Sick displayed some of the best psychological mind games among its characters. When you think you physically can’t take anymore and all your buttons have been pushed, BAM, Monica smacks you with another twisted element/storyline.

I am truly saddened that this is the end of Dutch and Luna. I was rooting for them, hardcore, from the beginning. One thing that will get me through is that epilogue. I am an epilogue whore and love to see just that little glance further into their lives. This one is a good one!

“There are no winners in this story – only fucking tragedy.”

Dutch and Luna’s story was formed from tragedy and as Luna says, “We found love in darkness.”

These two have had one of the wildest love stories and I’m all for it. There’s nothing cutesy or light about Love Sick. This story is one that is dark, depraved, make you sit on the edge of your seat, and hold your breath.

Everything is answered and comes full circle in Love Sick. You find out how much everyone is truly connected and it’s eerie. We also get to know a character named Jonathan and that makes for an interesting twist. I don’t even know what to say about that situation – I cringed and cackled at times. That Jonathan character was interesting to say the least. You’ll have to read the book to understand my apprehension with saying too much about him.

“We will be connected eternally, and for that, she is my forever and a day.”

While this book has the age gap trope in it, I truly felt like Dutch and Luna were the same age. Luna’s behavior is that of someone much younger than she is. And speaking of tropes… there’s a bit of miscommunication or rather it’s purposeful miscommunication. It’s frustrating as can be, but the situation is quickly resolved.

I’m not ready for the Heart Memory Transfer Duet to be over; however, I think it ended in the best way possible. Dutch and Luna finally have their HEA and it’s a sweet one.

What an absolutely stunning conclusion this book was!
I am stunned, I’m speechless and a a mixed bag of emotions.
Ms. James brilliantly pieces together the very complicated puzzle together with perfection.
Every single question I had and didn’t even know to ask are answered and put into place with precision and accuracy that showcases the author’s remarkable talent.
I was floored withHeart Sick (bk 1). But Love Sick surpassed it by miles.
Along with the characters already known in the first book, we are introduced to new players.
While I’m reading I’m thinking why is this character here? And what the hell is going on?
Well I’ll say it again the author is a genius and a perfectionist because she efficiently and smoothly had a role for every single character. Everyone was vital to this phenomenal story.
There are no fillers and no unnecessary characters.
I was on freaking edge throughout the book.
But towards the end my heart was beating so wildly it felt like it was going to jump out of my chest.
At this point I’m think omg you better not do this Ms. Monica James!
My nerves were wracked and everything in me was a total mess.
Jeez I still can’t get over what I read!
I highly recommend absolutely not reading anything containing spoilers!
Let yourself experience what the Author spectacularly slowly unveils and experience the shock and awe for yourself.
This duet truly captivating and unlike anything I’ve ever read before.
SPECTACULAR!

‘Falling in love is a magical experience. So to be able to do it twice—I won’t waste a single second.’

Click…click…click.

And so it begins…again.

The conclusion to Dutch and Luna’s story is finally here and let’s just say you will not be prepared for the violence, the bloody gore, and the dark and disturbing scenes of this romantic tale. As for me…bring it on!! James is known for her dark and deranged romance stories and I for one can’t get enough of this author. With every new book comes a wild and crazy adventure. This book was another example of the greatness that is…Monica James. She’s a force to be reckoned with and I for one love this unhinged version of her writing skills. Another 5 star read that I couldn’t put down. You slay my mind, Monica!

Dutch and Luna are still at the mercy of Dr. Alanna Norton. Revenge is consuming Luna, it’s all she thinks of day and night. To finally end the one person who stole her first love is within her grasp. But she is also fighting for her new love, Dutch Atwood. Betrayal is the new normal and trust is something that is earned and Dutch has broken Luna’s trust. Will he get it back? Will they have there happily ever after?

Another must read from Author, Monica James. Get it at the link in my bio.

Love Sick is the second installment of the Heart Memory Transfer Duet. The story picks up right after the cliffhanger of Heart Sick. This book is so fast paced and keeps you on your toes throughout the entire story. This might be the most unhinged book Monica has ever wrote, and I’m not mad about it. I’m a huge dark romance fan. This book is dark and plays on horror elements too. Love Sick was the perfect conclusion to the duet and gave my dark heart everything I wanted plus more. I loved Luna In this book she was a fierce woman fighting for herself and everyone she loves. Dutch and Luna’s love story as unconventional as it was, showed they never gave up on one another. Monica sure does write great villains you love to hate. Alanna for example! I don’t want to write any spoilers in this review because I feel like everyone needs to read this duet with an open mind and blindly to get the full affect. I’ll be thinking about this one for a while. I can always count on Monica to get me out of a book funk and deliver a five star read.

What a wild finale to this unique and engrossing duet! Love Sick is even more gripping and twisting than Love Sick- and Love Sick certainly had me ALL messed up! Monica James always knows how to thrill and unsettle, delivering engaging stories that pack a whopping emotional punch while also keeping you perpetual on your toes. And Love Sick is a total rollercoaster of emotional hits and thrilling twists. The plot unfolds at an almost frenetic speed, and like the first book Love Sick, you'll find both your brain AND heart in a blender. What is real, what is sane, what is true? Ah, the questions never end. The twists, the suspense, the insanity - I couldn't stop turning the pages. And our characters continue to delight and capture you- from our leads to the various secondary characters and ALL of their craziness. Monica James can truly write any genre, but this psychological thriller is one of her most creative and intense. It's entertaining, it's heartfelt, it's unhinged and darkly disturbing. And even at the end, questions still remain. What a wild, wild ride.
