Black Stone
Hook: Mustad size 8-14
Body: Black dubbing
Thread: Black
Backing: Small Grouse feathers
Rib: Brown silly legs
Tail/Antenna: Pheasant tail fibers
Start this fly by tying in two pheasant tail fibers and covering them with thread to the point above the barb. Make sure the two pheasant tail fibers get secured pointing outward for the tail. Advance the thread to the front of the hook and then tie in a strip of silly legs material. Wrap this material back to the tail. Wax your thread and apply the black dubbing. Taper the body bigger as you move the dubbing towards the eye. When you reach the 3/4 mark the body should be about five times as thick as the hook. Wrap the ribbing material forward in the opposite direction that the body was dubbed, leaving little spaces between wraps. At the 3/4 mark tie in three Grouse feather tips layering them about 1/2 way on top of each other. Tie off the feathers and tie in two more pheasant tail fibers for the antenna. Form a small head, whip finish and cement.
