Dear Reader,

Dust off your notebook—it's that time again—vacation time for me and time for you to enter the annual Write a Dear Reader Contest. Write a Dear Reader column, see it published at the book clubs and win your own library of books!

Two First Prize winners will each receive an 80 book library (most books are signed by the author), a book bag from Vanguard Press and their column will be published at the book clubs. Four Runner-up winners will each receive 35 books and the winning columns will be featured at the book clubs.

Guidelines and Deadline

Deadline is September 12, 2009.

1. Maximum word count is 385. (Please be sure to count your words.)

2. All entries must be original and not previously published.

3. One entry per reader. The column must be solely the work of the entrant.

4. You must be at least 18 years old to enter.

5. Columns will be judged on style and content.

6. Email your Dear Reader entry to contest@DearReader.com. Please put the words "Dear Reader Contest" in the subject line. Include your full name, mailing address and telephone number. Your entry should be in the "body" of your email message and not in an attachment. We cannot open attachments. 

7. We will send you an email reply acknowledging receipt of your entry. If you have not received email notification within 24 hours, please email Suzanne@DearReader.com and let us know.

8. All entires become the property of DearReader.com.
