If you write by hand, then do two finger spaces. If you are doing it on a computer, then just press the tab button, which is set to the default of 5 spaces. If you prefer, use the space bar and tap it 5 times.
Just hitting tab usually works, provided that a) you have a tab key (and who doesn't? Even old typewriters have tab keys), and b) it is set for the proper spacing as the default setting. It is rare to ever need to change the default setting.
These days 1/2 inch is considered proper (about 5 spaces using 12 point Courier, but it will vary with other fonts and sizes). Somewhere in your Word Processing program, in your Formatting and paragraph settings, you'll be able to set the tab stops. Just set it to 0.5" and you're set!

If the first line of each paragraph is indented, there should be no space between paragraphs. If the first line of each paragraph is not indented, there should be one space between paragraphs.
__
Paragraphs, whether indented or not, should always be separated from one another by two lines.
There is no standard spacing. I use two indents, others may use a different indent spacing. Decide on the spacing and keep to that through out. For instance, after a full stop, I press the space bar twice. After a comma I press the space bar once. So decide and keep to your decision.
Traditionally, two spaces follow a period or closing puncutation in a sentence. However, with the advent of computer based writing, one space has become acceptable.

The body of a business letter, or most letters for that matter, should be single spaced. However there should be a double spacing in between each paragraph. (Don't forget the special spacings in certain areas, such as for signatures and after mailing information.
