***I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the publisher, through Netgalley.com, in exchange for honest feedback.***

When I read the first book in this series, then named 'Addicted To Sin', I fell completely in love with Maddy and Dixon's story. I wanted so badly for things to work out for these two and for them to get their HEA. At the same time, I knew they were on borrowed time.

This book continues in the same manner. I love Dixon, but he doesn't make it easy! Holy hell! This guy just keeps digging deeper and deeper. As his lies kept piling up, I was just waiting for everything to come crashing down.

After Dixon manages to explain/lie his way out of one mess, he dives headfirst into another. As much as I wished I could have reached through my screen to shake some sense into him, I have to admit that Ms. Murphy did a fine job of keeping me glued to my Kindle. I could not look away, even knowing that some heartache was in store for me.

This time around, Juliet's games have gotten more twisted. She's still one of the best villains I've ever encountered. There isn't a thing about her that is likable. She is quite possibly the vilest bitch on the planet! And Dylan, I can't even begin to express how despicable he is. Those two deserved each other for sure.

Eventually, Dixon's indiscretions did come back to haunt him. I always knew it would happen, but nothing could have prepared me for the fallout. I was completely and utterly heartbroken.

Without giving too much away, I will say that Dixon and Maddy's relationship evolves a great deal in this book. They face betrayal, loss and pain. Sadly, they learn that all hurts can't be fixed, no matter how much you love someone. (Don't think I'm going to give away the ending though.)

As in the first book, you can count on a few laughs from Dixon's two guy pals. Hunter and Finch never failed to try and steer him down the right path. Unfailingly, they spent a great deal of time picking him up and setting him back on his feet after he'd screwed up majorly. I love these guys! I'm hopeful that Hunter will get his own book soon, but no official word on that.

Without a doubt, this is one of my new favorite series! I love stories that rip your heart out and leave you begging for more. I guess I'm a bit masochistic that way. 'Wicked Dix' does not disappoint! I loved every nail-biting minute of this story!

First and foremost, I liked the original title better. And the old name of the series fit better as well. With that being said, it doesn't affect my rating. However, I almost missed this one because I wasn't aware that it was a part of Addicted To Sin.

description

Wicked Dix is a continuation of Dirty Dix, formerly known as Addicted to Sin. This story picks up where the last ended.

I fell deeply for Madison and Dixon; even if Dixon did make it difficult at times lol. It was almost as if he liked the torture. With each decision he made, I found myself cringing and groaning. It's like he was allergic to the right way! I felt like as he was digging his hole, that same dirt he dug up was burying him at the same time. I found myself yelling at Dixon to stop with the web that he was weaving for himself. I just knew that eventually, the web was going to get so big that he'd have no way to untangle himself from it.

description
"Who wants to be good when it feels so good being bad?”
description

Madison's rebirth was something commendable. With Dixon's support, and also deceit, she was able to let the real Madison anchor and disentangle herself from the weak, chaste, vulnerable and timid Madison, the one who lived in fear and paranoia. I loved Madison's character. Despite her dark past, she, for the most part, was able to push forward with her life and not let a nauseating and contemptuous parasite latch onto her progression.

I was debating if I wanted to give Juliet recognition in my review or not. But ultimately, the story wouldn't be complete without her. Monica James has perfected the villain. Juliet's pores seep with vileness. She's pictured in the dictionary next to EVIL . And even in all of her pollution, I think I would read her book, if she was to ever get one.

description

Inevitably, Dixon's transgressions come back to haunt him with a vengeance. I knew the shit was going to hit the fan and I found myself anxiously awaiting the blowout. And even as I was condemning Dixon for his bed of lies, and Juliet for her waves of terror, I knew that it was only adding more fuel to the implosion I was anxiously awaiting.

“Romance truly is dead. Juliet Harte killed it the day she opened her venomous mouth and I happily stuck my dick into it.”
description

Once again, Monica James managed to have my feelings battling because I wanted to dislike Dixon. But. I. Just. Couldn't. Maybe that just proves I'm a masochist.
The flow of the story is flawless and I connected with the characters so easily. I loved the development of the secondary characters as well. I got to know a lot about these people who meant so much to Madison and Dixon. I'm hoping Hunter gets a book. I'd like to see his transformation. He seems like a fun character to unfold. My speculation is that Mary, Madison's best friend, will whip him into shape.

This series is a def-rec for those looking for angst, steam, and isn't afraid of a little self-torture. ;)

Brilliant! That is what I have to say about Miss James. She is a talented writer. Even though I ended up not liking Hunter's story.

Wicked Dick is epic. It has all the turn and twist that make the story alive. I usually do not like long book. Because the twist and plot became entangle in a confusing way.
Not with Wicked Dick.

I am so glad Miss James gives Dixon a redemption he deserves. And he deserves it all. His HEA.

5 Stars !

"Everything I do, I do for you"

I loved this book, it was fantastic ! Wicked Dix picks up where the previous book, Dirty Dix (previously titled “Addicted to Sin”), left off. Dixon Mathews has chosen the risky role of the liar to protect Madison, the woman he loves. He feels it’s the price to pay for succumbing to Juliet’s carnal appeal and being the manwhore he was. He knows that his past affair with Juliet can cost him everything and that he’d be better off dealing with the consequences of his actions and telling the truth to Madison. But he can’t. He is afraid Madison might never forgive him for lying to her.

Dixon made me swoon ! Of course, he is flawed, but he is also attentive, caring and patient. Madison and Dixon are soulmates and have sizzling chemistry. They are so endearing together! I felt Dixon’s despair because he knows Juliet is toxic and will stop at nothing. She doesn’t hesitate to resort to blackmail and manipulation to keep her control on him. But can she win against a desperate man and his psychotherapist arsenal (lol) ?

Madison is a wonderful character. Despite the ugly moments in her past, she was able to free herself. She grew so much, partly thanks to Dixon.

This book was perfectly paced and suspenseful. I was mesmerized by this story and literally glued to my kindle, hoping for the best ! It was a perfect blend of swoon-worthy and heartbreaking moments, angst and funny interactions, with great dialogue and dual POV giving a unique voice to the heroes. I loved Dixon’s witty banter with his best friend, Hunter, making for some light moments. Just a hint for the author, I would love a book about Hunter !

This story ended with some memorable scenes, that will stay with me for a long time.
I highly recommend this series and I hope you’ll love it as much as I did !

I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest review

Wicked Dix (Hard Love Romance #2) by Monica James
5 stars!!!

“We are never so defenseless against suffering as when we love…”

Wicked Dix is the second and final book in the Hard Love Romance Series. This book carries on from the end of book one, Dirty Dix (formerly released as Addicted to Sin.) Therefore, you need to make sure you have read Dirty Dix first.

For those that have read my review of Dirty Dix you will know that Dr Dixon Matthews really got to me. He was a man I should have hated, yet ended up loving. A man who was in a position of trust and yet abused that for his own sexual gratification. A psychiatrist whose speciality was addiction and yet was a self-confessed sex addict…a total recipe for disaster…and it was. However, Dixon’s addiction was borne from a broken heart and now that he had found his forever love he was a reformed character, however, his past boasts a tonne of skeletons and it is these skeletons that have come back to haunt him.

“And now, my hands are tied. Tied by Juliet Hart – the Antichrist in heels.”

I have to be vague unfortunately, as this whole book is a spoiler and ties up all the loose ends from Dirty Dix. Dixon tries to do his best to protect Maddison from his past indiscretions, I was begging him to just be honest from the start.

“With hindsight, I would have done so many things differently. But that’s the fucked-up thing about hindsight. It’s useless.”

Juliet was the devil incarnate, I seriously hated her with a passion and if anyone deserved to be hurt in this whole story it was her. As you can gather from Dirty Dix this woman had serious issues and these really come to the forefront in this book, however, Dixon in all his foolish wisdom decides to play the devil at her own game and throughout I was just waiting for the whole sorry tale to just implode with devastating results. Monica James keeps you waiting though, I was beginning to think she was the devil herself.

“Romance truly is dead. Juliet Harte killed it the day she opened her venomous mouth and I happily stuck my dick into it.”

The change in Dixon from the beginning to the end of this series was dramatic and just goes to show how the love of a great woman can totally change someone’s life around. Dixon wanted to be better, he wanted to deserve Maddy and most of all he wanted to love her. While he was economical with the truth he was only trying to protect Maddy from his past and even though he goes about it the wrong way, he always had the best intentions.

“But she has no idea who she’s playing against. She never did.”

Maddy also grows up a lot in this book and that is one of the things that I have loved about this series, how the characters grow before your eyes, how they learn from their mistakes, how they try to change for the better and most importantly how they desperately try to better themselves. Maddy finally goes to counselling and this was the stepping stone that she needed to really find her back bone and be able to finally stand up for herself and most importantly stand up to her family.

“You are…the strongest, bravest person I know.”

Although this book has its fair share of angst and edge of your seat, heart pounding, oh no, expletive, expletive, expletive scenes Monica James perfectly balances this with the wit and humour I have loved from the start with Dixon and his two friends, Hunter and Finch, literally the devil and the angel on Dixon’s shoulders. The relationship that these three share is a real bromance and I seriously want their stories too, especially Hunter.

I will say kudos to Monica James because there was one scene in this book that deserves a specific mention. It was one scene that I will never forget and tore at every heart string I had. This scene was so emotionally charged, so pivotal, it had me in floods of tears, but she nailed it. If ever someone needed to hit rock bottom it was Dixon and Monica James delivered it in style and with a ferocious soul crushing intensity. But after all, once you hit the bottom…the only way is up. Some lessons just need to be learned even if they are the hard way. A fantastic end to an amazing series, I just loved everything about it.

“So once upon a time, I was Manhattan’s biggest man-whore. But now, I’m just…me.

I hated this guy in the first book until towards the end of it but I loved him in this one! It takes talent for an author to be able to redeem a flawed male lead and not everyone can achieve it. This author certainly did an excellent job of showing me how much he loved the heroine and I totally believe she is it for him! The first book was uncomfortable for me to read especially the sex scenes with Juliette and I personally won't be remembering that but I think his character needed that imperfection in order to show us as a reader how he evolved into the wonderful ad loyal man he was always meant to be. I really enjoyed this book which I admit I wasn't sure I would. On a side note Hunter is just so funny and adorable and the bro romance between him and Dix was hilarious! I hope we get his book soon!

~~4.5 HEARTS~~

Here we are with the continuation of Dixon and Madison's story. We were left with a major cliffhanger in book one where Dixon got himself in a predicament. If you haven't read book 1 then I suggest you go and do that before reading Wicked Dix.

The book starts off right where book 1 ends. And let me tell you, you don't want to miss a thing. Juliet has dropped a major bomb on Dixon and he's trying to figure out a solution to his dilemma. That's where "Plan B" is hatched and the wheels start turning. Oh no, we can't go the simply way and just tell all parties the secret that is looming over all of their heads. That would be too easy and there would we no interesting story to read.

I DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT like Juliet at all. She's an evil, manipulative, self-centered wench. There were plenty of times that I just wanted to reach into my kindle and choke her. She had no remorse for anything she did to hurt others.

I love Hunter. He was hilarious and a great friend to Dix. I love the "sentimental" scene he had with Dix. He had me laughing and swooning for him. I see there's potential for him and Mary. I think Mary would be a perfect match for him. She seems like someone that won't shy away from telling him how she really feels.

Monica wrapped this series up well. I love how she left things. If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Dixon Mathews yet I recommend you go out and grab this series and settle down for a fantastic read.

4.5 stars!!!

ARC kindly provided by Bookouture via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

This story is about Dixon and Madison, two persons in love with secrets that can hurt them!
This story is so unique and nice! I really enjoy it! The writing of Ms. James is really good! It demands your attention and it's impossible not to get addicted to it! I had all kind of emotions during this ride! I laughed and I cried! The plot is moving smoothly without unexpected twists but with few surprises. The book is written basically by Dixon's POV with the exception of a couple of chapters that are from Madison's POV. I have to mention that Ms. James has made an excellent job writing a book basically from hero's POV! His voice was totally believable and fun to me!

My favorite part of this book is that the heroes don't forgive and forget with one kiss or one look. I also loved that the connection among the heroes is built and it's not happening with the speed of light! My only complaint is that there were very few references to the first book. Unfortunately I read Dirty Dix few months ago and I didn't remember all the details about it, so I found myself few times trying to figure out why was that or what exactly happened there.

Madison had changed from the first book. She is still kind of innocent but she is not naive! She is also so strong! I totally admire her! She has her issues and she deals with them in her own way. She really grew from a young girl to a young woman!

Dixon is a fantastic hero! He is real! His reactions are easy to believe and he sounds like a friend of mine! I love him because he messed up everything but he takes responsibility about it! I also love him because once he fell in love, he went all the way! Dixon is the kind of guy that you actually want to grow old with!

Their interactions were amazing on so many different levels! Hot, steamy kisses and conversations that can touch your soul!

The end of the book was fantastic! I troubled myself all through the book with how Ms. James was planning to close this story and I have to admit that she surprised me! I couldn't imagine a better ending! Of course now I am so curious for Hunter and I hope he will have his book as well.

I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves a true love story but after reading the first book of the series!

I can't believe it. I can not believe Monica James actually made me love the ending of this series. No joke, I was completely disgusted with how the 1st book ended. My first thought was there is no way I'm gonna read the second book. Problem was, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I've seen authors do this...they make it seem like a book is headed in one direction but then they do the opposite. I wanted Dixon and Madison to have their happy ending so bad that I had to take the chance and read the 2nd book.

The first half of the 2nd book drove me nuts and Dixon did things I really did not agree with. Add in you still have the vile Juliet and Dylan to deal with, but when the truth finally came out to Madison...the road Monica James took for Dixon and Madison's healing is exactly the turn I needed this story take for me to be a complete sap for the epilogue.

I think this book deserved the 5 stars I'm giving it. This is one of the very few series I have read that just emotionally wrung me out. I usually steer clear of this type but the magic of Monica James wouldn't let me ignore this series. I would recommend this series to readers who love the drama cause it's jammed packed from beginning to end but if you start it, you need to finish it!

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.
This is book two in the "Hard Love Romance" series by Monica James.
I would recommend that you read the firs book 'Dirty Dix' first and this book picks up where that one left off. This is also the type of male hero that is really bad at first but starts to change once he meets his true love.
We find that Dix is still working it out between Juliet and Madison. Dix is trying to officially break it off with Juliet but she not letting go easily. Dix has come to realize that Madison means more to him than doing the emotionless sex to get is 'high' and that he really cares for Madison. But Dix and Madison past starts to come forward to cause issues in their budding romance.
I really got in to this book and could not put it down. I really liked the secondary characters and hope that we may see another book for Hunter and his feelings for Madison friend.

This novel reminds me of a story that I still love and cherish with everything from the crazy up and downs and to the characters personalities.

This was so much better than the first book even if that can be possible as we stayed with the couple. I can feel the anguish and the crazy emotions of the characters. This book does have a lot of steamy sex. But, it has amazing character development and also a couple that works together as they have gone through thick and thin.

There are many things I don’t like which is why I’m hesitate to give the full stars such as certain phrases used which they have sex that doesn’t sit with me. Also, I don’t like it when the male MC grabs the girl by the arm or the female MC pushing him. I don’t like that as it screams red flags 🚩 but I still have to give full stars as it too damn good!

Ok so for those of you that follow me (the five people) you know this first book killed me.

So at the end of the book Monica killed me. She basically took a knife and sliced my heart out

I was so in love with Dixon I don't think it was healthy. He was addicted to sex. But that isn't the kicker the kicker was that he was sleeping with some of his patients.

I’ve always been a bad boy, with a very wicked reputation.

But then I met Madison – sweet, vulnerable, innocent Madison. She makes me feel as if there is hope for me. As if I could be a good man. I need her more than I need air to breathe.

Just one problem, actually it's a big problem, a big problem with a rancid vagina!

She is also a temptress and a big fat bitch who won’t take no for an answer. Are you getting my distaste and dislike for her? I hope you die!

Dixon tries to tell her no, but she's like a freaking fruit fly that never dies! And if he tells her no she'll turn around, telling Madison all of their dirty secrets! And believe me those secrets are DIRTY!

Then he does what I wasn't expecting, or maybe I was and I just didn't want to see it because I was so in love with him! HE AGREES TO HER TERMS!!

Are you out of your mind? Have you gone insane? Is the blood not leaving your penis and flowing to your brain?

A whole bunch of stuff can go wrong!

He goes into this trying his best not to be the old Dixon. He is fighting to be the guy that Madison deserves.

This is my chance to prove that I can. But it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Are you ready?

But I can't calm down because the whole book I was waiting for him to mess up. I was holding my breath waiting for the other shoe to fall. I was hoping that the tangled web of lies that he made wouldn't get sucked up by the vacuum cleaner!

I was a roller coaster ride. I held my breath, my heart started beating in my ears, my neck got really really hot and I thought I would faint with anticipation!

But this whole book wasn't your typical sex addict. It was a love story that had to come from within. It was a love that he had to sit back and make changes. He had to change for love! You would think he would fight it tooth and nail, but when the love is so pure, when the love is so precious, when the love is so right, change isn't that hard!

Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I am the most anal person when it comes to the order in which I read books. I read them in order of publication date no matter what!! But once in a while I will make an exception for a book that I am incredibly desperate to read!! A couple of nights ago I found out that Wicked Dix was up for request on netgalley and that was it-I had to have this book and I had to have it NOW. I have been waiting for book 2 in this series in what seems like forever, since I read the cliffhanger at the end of Addicted to Sin (which you will know I absolutely loved if you've read my review)

So Wicked Dix takes over from where Dirty Dix (that's is the new name for Addicted to Sin if you weren't already aware) left off. The dirty Doctor Matthews is caught between a rock and a hard place (no pun intended!!!) when it comes to his love life. He has to decide whether or not to tell the truth about his past dalliance with Juliet. If he does, he may lose Maddison so the bad boy doctor comes up with a plan to play Juliet at her own game.

I love Dixon Matthews!! This second book in the series continues his ladish adventures but this time it is certainly more of a romance as he starts to fall heavily for the sweet and innocent Maddison. It's still pretty hot and heavy in places so be warned!! The way most of the story is told from his POV works so well as he comes across far more human this time, more in touch with his emotions even though they obviously scare the hell out of him. The scenes where he is with his mates Hunter and Finch are my favourites, I love their friendship and I would certainly love to read a follow on maybe for Hunter in the future??!! I loved the ending and all those twists and turns although I was getting worried about where it was heading!

I would recommend reading Dirty Dix first to get the full amount of enjoyment from Wicked Dix. This is a great series for lovers of erotic romance and Monica James has created a brilliant "loveable rogue" character in Dixon Matthews. You know you ought to hate him for the way he treats women but he is brought to life in such a way that you just can't help but cheer him on! I felt I wanted to mother him (honestly!!!) just like his faithful receptionist Mrs Vale.

A highly recommended 5* from me.

I received a copy of this book via netgalley in return for an unbiased review.

I love a good girl setting a bad boy straight. Great ending :)

Laughed so much at the wedding scene!

NetGalley Review
****ARC was provided by Bookouture via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.****

I really wanted to love this book. Probably because I feel like Dixon and Madison deserve a happy ending and I feel that I can go ahead and say this without adding a spoiler they do eventually have their HEA.

HOWEVER, I just have an issue with how Dix goes about trying to fix his issue. Though I guess the moral here is that we're all human and we all way to just try to hide our problems under the rug and not let the ones we love know how pathetic and immoral we really are. No one wants to open themselves and show their cowardice, vulnerabilities, and faults to the world. These things that Dix does is what makes him a distasteful hero...he's real, but not a real hero. I'm just glad in the end he gets his act together.

I noticed that 'Funny' is one of the genres of this book and I didn't find anything about this book humorous. In fact, there were many parts that was a bit sad - Dix's dad, Madison's stepsister and her brother, etc. Also, I notice there is no mention of Madison's parents. She just lets them know the big secret and then nothing. Not even when Dix writes to them. Nothing. I feel like they should have been featured a bit to see how they handled everything. At least in the end.

Thanks a lot to netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

This book made my heart grew wide, shattered it to pieces, only to slowly put it together again.

I absolutely loved Dixon and Madison together, they were such a sweet couple and I loved how Dixon was showing his romantic side with her. But I absolutely hated him not being honest with her. I was so close to jump into the book shaking him. This is what is really annoying me in books of this genre but on the same site I often love that drama. I love how it breaks and how it brings me to tear. This book did it...from a certain point on I couldn't stop crying. I love it when an author brings me to tears.

I also had my troubles with Dixon trying to handle the Juliet situation. To be honest I don't think I understood his theory completely and for me it lacked in logic as well.

This book was a very emotional ride from swooning, crying and being angry. Call me crazy but I love that mix.

Jaaaa, was soll ich sagen?

When I saw that the second book in this series had become available via NetGalley, I literally stopped what I was doing and downloaded it. I immediately started reading and completely forgot to go on Twitter to share the book cover that was being revealed - I was so engrossed to be back in the world of Dr. Dixon that when the kindle crashed, it was gone midnight and I was 40% into the book and taken back under Dix's spell.

If you read my review of Dirty Dix (formally Addicted To Sin) that I posted a few weeks back then you will know that this isn't my usually genre of book, but I needed something different to pull me out of my reading slump and Monica James did just that, however I was most upset/annoyed/shocked that the book ended on a bombshell that I couldn't wait for more - you can read my review of Dirty Dix here, and just whilst I'm mentioning that - just look at this stunning new book cover too!

If I thought that Dirty Dix played with my emotions, then I was totally and utterly NOT prepared for Wicked Dix!

I also make no apologies for being so vague with this review as you really do need to read the books for yourself - I don't want to give too many spoilers away!

Monica James picked up Wicked Dix were Dirty Dix left off and although I would completely recommend that you read the first book before the second, there are little sentences and paragraphs that refer back to previous events which lead us to the situation we are in now and at a push you could read book 2 as a standalone, but don't... just DON'T OKAY!!!

Dixon has been left in a predicament - if he tells the truth he will lose Madison, if he lies then he has to continue with Juliet and her games and most likely to end up losing Maddy anyway.
Despite his too best buddies, Hunter and Finch, urging him to tell the truth, Dixon decides to take matters in to his own hands and play Juliet at her own games.
Only she's one clever cookie and stitches him right up forcing his hand to confess all to an innocent Madison.

There were a few unexpected twists and turns in Wicked Dix, and unlike some of the bigger titles in the erotica genre that are on the market, Monica James' A Hard Love Romance series has so much more than just sex. Yes there is a lot of sex. Yes there were moments when I was like "What the...?"
I've read some of those hyped up books out there and firstly their sex scenes were all very much the same, Wicked Dix kept it varied and secondly, the storyline was so much more interesting that at times I was sighing Ooo and Ahh whilst at other times I could feel my hands tightening the kindle in frustration - yes, I very much still have the love/hate relationship with Dixon that I felt in the first book but I enjoyed reading and seeing the story progress in both his personal and professional worlds.

What I loved about Wicked Dix though, is that we see a lot more depth to him and his ways. He's had to make tough choices and learn that his actions speak so many more volumes than his words at times and we see his character change quite drastically as he realises the errors of his ways and man's up some what.
Equally, Madison has grown up quite a bit from B1, since we last met her she has been having counselling and this has made her character grow much stronger. I love that she can now stick up for herself a bit more!

If you follow @LozzaBookCorner on twitter you may have seen a few exchanges with myself and Jo from Comet Babes Books regarding Dix's friend Hunter - he is hilarious, with brilliant one liners and a straight talking nature - I can honestly see him having a spin off novella!

Overall, Wicked Dix is just as brilliant a book as Dirty Dix was. Monica James' writing style has completely played with my emotions... I've gone from air punching in delight to opening my eyes wide in shock. Every time I thought the book had come to a conclusion, I was delighted to find that I still had 30%... 20%.. 10% of the book left - I just did not know how it was going to end.

And now that it has ended, I really don't know how to feel. I'm happy with the outcome, don't get me wrong, but I can't help but feel that this isn't the end of the line for Dixon and Maddy...

At the forefront this book was a complete page turner and had me gripped from start to finish and on the edge of my seat, ultimately it was a gorgeous love story.

... when you can no longer distinguish between the lies you’ve told and the truth, it’s time to come clean. Dixon Matthews

What. The. Fudge. Book 2 is so much better than its predecessor. It had taken me on the journey of Dix's redemption. Several times I thought I wouldn't make it out the other side with my sanity still intact. But here I stand.

What had started as a dirty bad boy and his equally dirty secret quickly evolved into something a lot more complicated. There was Rome, psycho-babble, a father's love, the neurotic best friends and more lover(s) drama. All the ingredients to keep us entertained.

“One must have chaos in oneself to be able give birth to a dancing star" - Nietzsche

And boy did it give us chaos. Actually you would think for a smart therapist he would be able to figure out his mess. But Dix knew what he stood to lose. That was unacceptable. So the fool decided to dance with Juliet and keep his love, Madison.

Protect us on our travels, wherever we may roam; keep us safe and guide us, always safely home.

I won't lie. Madison and her wounded past did my head in. Perhaps if she healed earlier this rollercoaster may never have come about. Haha maybe I would have gone to sleep at a reasonable time and not battle my way through on 2hrs sleep. I mean I was addicted and there was no way I could put this down.

“Because sometimes, we need to believe we’ve lost everything to appreciate what we had.” - Maxwell Wellington

Did we get a HEA? Where is the Harlot and her secret? Is Madison really a wallflower? What price did Dix pay for his love?

Will The Hunter get his Lamb? Haha. You will need to read Dirty Dix and Wicked Dix to appreciate this development.

So till then - stay hydrated, be mindful of the sun, switch off the devices for several hours a day and love like a drunken sailor - recklessly.

My favorite manwhore is back!! Well, technically he's a reformed manwhore. Dixon is now flying the straight and narrow (or at least he's really trying to), and has become a one woman man. His eyes and his heart are focused solely on Madison. It shouldn't come as a surprise that Juliet is none too happy about it. She's holding that one little golden ticket over Dixon's head to get him right where she wants him. So the big question here is, what is he going to do?? How is he going to get himself out of this mess without upending his entire world and destroying the relationship he's built with Madison?? There are lots of poor choices made this time around, as well as secret keeping, and intense drama... but would you really want it any other way?? Wicked Dix is another wild ride in the Hard Love Romance Series!!

I adore Dixon and Madison as a couple. Despite their different backgrounds, they compliment each other well, and really do bring out the best the other has to offer. I'm totally on board with their relationship, 110%... but they both worked my nerves something fierce in this second installment. Dixon for his horrible way of handling his situation, and Madison for being so... I don't know, perfect? I felt she was a bit too judgmental for my liking. Regardless of their shortcomings, it made for quite the page turner. I know I was glued to my Kindle from the moment I started reading.

Even though I absolutely hate Juliet, I like that she was given a bit more dimension this time around. I'm sure we can all agree that in Dirty Dix she left much to be desired. Her personality was just plain atrocious, and I know I definitely wasn't rooting for her to win Dixon's undivided attention. With all that set aside, there is actually a lot more to her than we initially thought. To put it bluntly, she's got enough issues to keep a psychologist employed for decades. Hidden behind a facade of over zealous sex appeal and highly over exaggerated self-confidence is a girl who is desperate for attention and acceptance. She wants to be somebody's #1, their first choice. Unfortunately, she goes about remedying that in all the wrong ways, but I'm holding onto hope for her that the answer is out there somewhere.

I love how Monica combines heartbreaking drama and humor in the same book. She tugs at your heartstrings and absolutely devastates you one minute, and then has you chuckling at Dixon and his friends antics/witty banter the next. It's all woven together seamlessly, with fantastically flawless writing. Of course I highly recommend Wicked Dix and look forward to seeing what else this series has in store for us!

An absolutely fantastic conclusion. Dixon once again made me want to both hurt and love him at the same time. Truly getting to see him in a vulnerable state at the risk of losing the love of his life in Madison...I fell for him hard.

This complicated story that is told in dual POV's kept me captivated from the very start. Picking up where we left off in Book 1, Dixon is fighting against time and the evil that is Juliet. Trying to carefully cover his tracks in order to protect Madison, as a reader you are just waiting to see how long be can keep all of his balls simultaneously in the air. At times I was almost exhausted watching as Dixon was practically living a double life. But oh my, his love for Madison was so beautiful and so true, all his mis-steps pretty much endeared him to me even more! Yes I am clearly under that man's spell and proud to admit it.

This is a well-written and completely engrossing book. We get to see demons eradicated and love destroyed. But we also get to see how second chances should never be wasted. This is not an easy journey but one that was necessary for both Dixon and Madison.

The secondary characters from Dixon's best friends to his long-suffering secretary to his silent Dad were the perfect additions and offered the insight into sides of Dixon he at times had forgotten still existed. I laughed, I fumed but most of all I smiled at how much I enjoyed this story. In the end its simply about a man and a woman who are both searching for the right person. The one who will accept them warts and all. And forgive when it might not even make a difference. I often held my breath just waiting for the other shoe to drop or a secret be revealed that could destroy it all. And overall I'm happy to say that it was one crazy ride and one I'd happily take again.

I'm thrilled I discovered this author and can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

5 very satisfying stars!!

I would like to thank Net Galley and Bookouture for the copy of Wicked Dix by Monica James in exchange for my review.

Wicked Dix is the continuing story of Dr Dixon Matthews a Psychiatrist specialising in patients with addiction issues, who decided to mend his broken heart by feeding his own addiction – sex. At least until he met two women who were set to turn everything he thought he knew right on its head.

Picking up where Dirty Dix left off, in Wicked Dix we find Dixon caught between a She-Devil and his Angelo. Being blackmailed by one, he will go to any lengths to protect his love, including lying to her. Against his friends’ advice, Dixon decides to play a dangerous game, doing all he can to ensure that the monster who ruined Madison’s life doesn’t get the chance to do it again. The game he used to play is being turned against him and now he must use all of his skills and his training to manipulate and twist the She-Devil into relinquishing her power over him. And from that point on, you know this story isn’t going to end well for any of them.

The characters in this story are well written and you get a good sense of the vulnerability of not just Madison but also Juliet, although her own motivations are purely self-serving and shallow and I think anyone would struggle to find a redeeming quality within her character. It is almost a relief when she finally gets her due.

You get to see all of the characters grow, most notably Dixon, who finds something in himself that he thought had been long lost. And the change in Madison is well observed, her finding the inner strength she needed in the changes which are forced upon the pair of them.

Obviously, with a title like Wicked Dix, this is not a simple love story (although in essence that is exactly what it is). The scenes between Madison and Dixon are steamy enough to keep a true fan happy, without being too much or too often – probably the right balance to drive the story forward and yet make the slow build of the relationship all the more believable. The scenes in Boston and New Jersey will give the reader hope which is cruelly taken away just as quickly, keeping you wanting to read more. And as for the car crash which happens in the Hamptons… Well it made me chuckle a little to say the least.

The friendship between Finch, Hunter and Dixon still provides laughs but takes a little more of a backseat in this book. However, we see Hunter take a keen interest in Madison’s friend Mary. The man-whore and the man-hater. Is this the next book made in heaven?

The pacing was yet again just right and the story held me right through to the end. Told from both Madison’s but predominantly Dixon’s point of view, you got a good clear picture of their developing love and Dixon’s struggle reconciling the man he knows he is with the man that Madison thinks she sees. This is a story of revenge, fierce protection, love, heartbreak and above all passion. It made me laugh, smile, get frustrated and ultimately like Dr, sorry, Professor Dixon that little bit more because, at the end of the day, the boy come good. You knew he would.

I went in with my eyes wide open. I knew that this was going to be a tough, riddled with angst and likely to piss me off romance. Trust me I was both eager and scared to read this. I’ve heard crazy good things about Dixon, the damaged H and Maddy, the girl who turned his life around. I love me some reformed bad boys and Dixon sounded right up my alley.

Let me just say that I did not read book one, Dirty Dix, so I was spared from reading about his past lovers and the crazy nut job that is Juliet.

Because even with just hints of the past, it was hard to reconcile B.M. (Before Maddie) Dixon to the loving protective A.M. (After Maddie) Dixon. Yes he was tortured and yes, he had a Very checkered past but he was 100% all about Maddie here. She was his saving grace and I loved that he was committed to her all the way. There was never any wavering, or second guessing his real intentions towards her. And that won me over. He was a big freaking man whore but once he was with Maddie, all that other BS was over. In Wicked Dix, Dixon has to live with the consequences of his actions and its not a pretty rose colored story. It was hard, it was dark, and it was heart crushing!

I wasn’t sure how I would feel in the end. I was all over the place!!! But I’m always rooting for the HEA and this one was no different. At times I wanted to slap some sense into Dixon, he was so scared of losing Maddie and in the process, himself, that he was willing to do some pretty shitty things. But this is Dixon, he isn’t a typical Hero and in his own twisted way, he was trying to prove his love.

Maddie was always this too good to be true innocent with some emotional baggage. In WD she finally breaks out of her shell, I just wished we could have gotten more happy times between Dixon and Maddie.
