A.J. Read Science Discovery Center & Planetarium Field Trip Request Form
We're excited to welcome visitors back to the SDC! We are now ready to start booking field trip visits for the 2022-2023 school year. To operate safely, we have revised our field trip form to reflect our phased reopening plan. Please note the following:

* We can only book one field trip per day, during our open days/hours (Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm).

*The most popular time for field trips is midday, usually with a morning session, lunch/snack break, and afternoon session (so 11am-1:30pm works great).

*Field Trips will be limited two groups of 28 people (students, teachers, chaperones) because of capacity restrictions (so a total of 56 people altogether).

*All Field Trips are dependent on a stable public health situation.

Field trips to the SDC are free! And, thanks to a generous grant from the Walmart Foundation, we can also offer aid for bus transportation to and from the SDC! We'll ask you about this later in the form.

Please complete the following form to help us set up your visit. After reviewing your response, we will contact you shortly with more details. We review field trip requests on Tuesday mornings. If you send in a request, you will hear back the following Tuesday.

We can accommodate groups up to 58 people during a single visit, based on the room capacities of the Center and the planetarium.

Group visits usually involve about an hour of free time to explore the Science Discovery Center, a half hour for a packed lunch/snack, and an hour-long planetarium show.
Is your group planning to bring a lunch or snack? *
There is an area with tables and chairs just outside of the Science Discovery Center where your group can eat a lunch or snack.
If possible, please provide a few options for a date that your group would like to schedule a visit. *
The Science Discovery Center is open Monday-Friday. Once we review your response, we will be in contact shortly to establish a date for your group to visit.

The Science Discovery Center is open 10:00am - 5:00pm. Group visits typically last 2.5 - 3 hours if time for a lunch or snack is included.
