ACCESS TO RIGHTS BY UNDOCUMENTED WOMEN IN EUROPE: A NEGLECTED CHAPTER IN FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS PROTECTION
Undocumented migrant women are one of the most vulnerable groups, at the intersection of numerous systems of oppression. Even though the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union guarantees human rights for everyone in the EU soil, regardless of legal status, in practice, undocumented migrant women are excluded from this protection.
Since 2020, the COVID crisis has made it even more challenging for this group to access the full benefits of their protected rights. Facing this reality, the European Network of Migrant Women, in partnership with TrustLaw (Thomsons Reuters Foundation), produced a report on undocumented migrant women access to fundamental rights in 9 European countries.
This report will be officially launched and presented on Thursday 23rd of June 2022.
