Romeo Beckham hangs out with Lionel Messi days after Inter Miami said they would use dad David to land PSG star
DAVID BECKHAM'S son Romeo was snapped hanging out with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi in France.
This comes shortly after it was revealed David's MLS club Inter Miami are targeting a shock swoop for Messi once he leaves Paris.
Romeo visited Paris for Fashion Week with girlfriend Mia Regan as well as Spice Girls mum Victoria and spent some time with PSG's biggest stars Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.
The Manchester United legend's son, who plays for Inter Miami's B team, took a photo with all three and was presented with a signed shirt by the Brazil international.
The 19-year-old's dad is reportedly keen on bringing Messi over to America, according to his right-hand man Jorge Mas who described a potential swoop as a "possibility".
Mas said: "I think, and David has a relationship with him, if he does leave PSG, at the time he leaves it, we’d love to see Lionel Messi be a player at Inter Miami and be part of our community.
"Can it happen? Look, we’ll push. I’m an optimist at heart. Could I see that happening? It’s a possibility."
Messi joined PSG from Barcelona last summer and signed a two-year deal, with the option for a further year.
But an underwhelming debut season so far could see the Argentina international forcing an early exit from Parc des Princes.
David, though, remained coy when quizzed on the possibility of landing the star forward.
The former Real Madrid star said: "I’ve always said I want the best players in our club and playing in our shirt because there’s a certain expectation.
"Unfortunately, sometimes it can be a bad thing. But most of the time it’s a good thing.
"When I first started this project, people were saying, 'This guy is coming, that guy is coming, [Cristiano] Ronaldo is coming, Messi’s coming.'
"At the end of the day, we need to win, whether it’s with the young kids or stars.
"Our fans will be happy if we have stars on the team, but they’ll be even happier if they’re seeing young players coming through our academy and lifting the MLS Cup."
