Rory McIlroy schedule and results
Prior to finishing his 2023 season at the DP World Tour Championship, McIlroy announced that he would also be starting his 2024 campaign in the Middle East.
McIlroy is also co-heading a new venture with Tiger Woods called TGL Golf – a new interactive, tech-infused golf league which was set to start in January 2024. However, due to substantial damage to the dome structure that the league was going to take place in, the inauguration of TGL Golf will now come in 2025.

McIlroy made his first appearance of the new year at the Dubai Invitational on the DP World Tour. He was in position to take the title but a driver into the water down the 72nd hole meant he finished runner-up to Ryder Cup team-mate Tommy Fleetwood. He fought back to win the Hero Dubai Desert Classic for the second year in succession, and fourth time in total, a week later.
After travelling back stateside, McIlroy failed to recapture winning form. He had a run of four consecutive top-25 finishes, but only managed a best of T19 at The Players Championship. He did manage a 3rd place finish at the Valero, but failed to break the top 20 at the first major of the year, the Masters.

Rory McIlroy schedule 2023
After winning the Dubai Desert Classic in his first start of the year, McIlroy made his second and third appearances in February at Scottsdale and Riviera respectively.
In big news for his home fans, McIlroy has also confirmed he will be playing in this year’s Irish Open at The K Club – the same course he won the event at in 2016.
On May 30, McIlroy announced he would compete in the Genesis Scottish Open – one week before the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
He would win his second title of the year at The Renaissance Club, before finishing T6 at the year’s last major championship.
Top five finishes at the BMW Championship and Tour Championship ended the PGA Tour campaign before another 4th place finish came at the DP World Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship.
He was then a crucial part of the European team at Marco Simone, as they won the Ryder Cup back from the Americans.

Matt Chivers
Now on the wrong side of 25, Matt has been playing golf since the age of 13 and was largely inspired to take up the game by countless family members who played golf during his childhood.
Matt is a member at Royal Cinque Ports in Deal playing off a 5 handicap, just a pitching wedge away from his hometown of Dover where he went to school and grew up. He has previously been a member at Etchinghill and Walmer and Kingsdown in Kent.
Having studied history at the University of Liverpool, Matt went on to pass his NCTJ Exams in Manchester a year later to fulfil his lifelong ambition of becoming a journalist. He picked up work experience along the way at places such as the Racing Post, the Independent, Sportsbeat and the Lancashire Evening Post.
Matt joined NCG in February 2023 and is the website’s main source of tour news, features and opinion. He has reported live from events such as The Open, the Ryder Cup and The Players Championship, having also interviewed and spent time with some of the biggest names in the sport.
