Happy Thursday everyone! All of today’s clue words were blasts from the past. BRIBE was last played on 6/21, while the rest of the lot were seen in the first half of 2020. All of our anagrams were presented in alphabetical order, but none of them had my head spinning. TTARYN took an extra try to solve so it’ll be my pick for today’s hardest anagram.
Riveting cartoon of a construction worker trying to drill a hole into a concrete block. The sledge hammer leaning against the wall indicates that he first punched a hole through the drywall to expose his work area. The anthropomorphic drill is obviously struggling to get the job done. My first guess as to why is because he’s using a regular drill bit instead of a masonry bit. A regular bit will work in a pinch, but you have to drill slowly so as not to overheat the drill. Some of the smaller details I noticed were a hole for the chuck key, some air inlets on the drill and a small hole at the bottom of the wall.
The final solve clocked in at 13-letters and just happened to be the same length as yesterday’s. I noticed BORE after staring at the letters for a few minutes and the rest of the answer flowed easily from the remainder. On to tomorrow! Until then, be well and enjoy the day.

It was a partial blind solve….initially thought it was TOOK, until saw there was no K in anagrams. Then saw the puzzle intentions and brought what a drill does into play…Ergo – BORE THE…..
Anagrams were easy, though initially misspelled the third word (THOUGH instead of FOUGHT) so didn’t have the letters to substantiate the answer. That was a quick fix. Will be interesting to see Angela’s song and how it BEARS a resemblance to this puzzle, or past tense…how it BORE one.

Anagrams came quickly,even ‘fought’,Cartoon solution w the multitude of letters gave me reason to pause,but after bore came to mind,and the 2 letter words were ‘of it’ rather than ‘ to it’,the complete solution was apparent.
I thought it was a cute puzzle this morning. Especially like the dialogue from the drill that he was doing all the work. Figured the last two words would be to it or of it. Once I saw bore the rest fell into place easily. Have a good Thursday all.

My initial 2 letter words were On It. Until I saw it had to be Brunt. Fell into place rather quickly today! Good day to All! ☀️
Hi Kim! There were too many two-letter combinations for me to go that route — OF IT, ON IT, TO IT. BORE popped out at me as all the letters for it were near the front of the anagram. RNT at the end made BRUNT a cinch to find. Enjoy the sunshine! 🙂
