WYOMING — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) has announced that it has opened a public comment period to gather feedback on Chapters 46 and 47 of its regulations, which pertain to fishing regulations and gray wolf hunting seasons, respectively.

In addition to the comment period, the agency will host public meetings to field questions and comments, with one meeting focused exclusively on the wolf chapter scheduled for the Jackson area at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 20, at the Teton County Library.

Wyoming’s gray wolf population has come under the microscope this year after the alleged abuse of a live wolf in Daniel, WY, incited impassioned reactions from wildlife advocates. The state legislature is currently discussing wolf-related laws in the state.

A number of other meetings regarding Chapters 46 and 47 are taking place across the state. See a full list of those meetings here.

Those unable to attend a meeting in person can submit written comments, which will be presented to the Game and Fish Commission ahead of its July meeting. The public can submit comments online through June 10, or mail them to: Wyoming Game and Fish Department Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY 82604.
