  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well…
WHAT’S CRAZY IS HOW LONG THIS THING IS TAKING! ⛰

    🎶 ROCK steady, Baby…That’s what I feel now…🎶 “Rock Steady” – Miss Aretha Franklin 1972 https://tinyurl.com/yyut5z9e

⛰They set out to build a Monument, but never did they think,
That years would dawdle on and on …and then the finances SHRINK…
(A CHAIR won’t make the scene here, and DROLL…I’m not so sure,
Not offering some HOLLOW words…they just don’t fit du jour)…
The years are now past 70…it’s so way off the grid…
But as far as location goes…that remains ROCK SOLID! ⛰

So…Circa 1948…and we see Chief Henry Standing Bear, https://tinyurl.com/5n7hy7eh decked out in tribal regalia, and Korczak Ziolkowski. https://tinyurl.com/yc8nt58x in the Black Hills of South Dakota. And they’ve found the perfect mountain for the Crazy Horse Memorial… https://tinyurl.com/3k692bc4 (2019 article)…the vision of which is displayed behind them. And taking nothing for GRANITE, today’s solve was finished in no time….Especially compared to this Monument! It’s been 74 years, Folks…and counting…But as I mentioned…between the words “mountain” and “perfect” in our dialogue, and “carve” in our question…this solve, IMO…was ROCK SOLIDhttps://tinyurl.com/y9rzkh6f

So…There you have it Folks, Done…(No pun intended)…Have a good one. Be well, be kind, stay safe…and here’s to the Crazy Horse Memorial getting STABLEized one of these days…⛰🙋🏻‍♀️

    I STAND WITH UKRAINE 💔🇺🇦
…AND I STAND FOR REFORM IN AMERICA 💔🇺🇸

  2. 🪑 They had the CHAIR reupholstered to try to SHRINK the softened HOLLOW part of the cushion…and were amused when the repairman, in a very DROLL manner said…”You’ll be sitting pretty from here on out…it’s ROCK SOLID now”…🪑

👍🏻 The new CHAIR they appointed sometimes acted very DROLL,
The older members wondering if they should take a poll…
To try and SHRINK his fan base, since they thought him cavalier,
But their suggestion? Frowned upon…and fell on HOLLOW ears…
So what if he was different…and enjoyed the chance to kid?
As far as the committee went…his place stays ROCK SOLID! 👍🏻

  3. 🤷🏻‍♂️So the intent was to carve in stone,
    Crazy Horse on his stallion…alone…
    It’s a story quite rare,
    Although one thing is clear…
There’s a lot involved to be bemoaned! 🤷🏻‍♂️

⚒ Work was started back in ‘48,
And is still undone as of this date…
    And the years multiply,
    Generations go by…
Gives new meaning to something’s that late! ⚒

🤷🏻‍♂️There’s no picture to really go by,
So the image…well, done on the fly…
    Crazy Horse just said no,
    To an actual photo…
And refused up until time he died! 🤷🏻‍♂️

  4. We’ll good morning Monday , start of a new week with jumble fun ! The anagrams came right to me ! And I agree that the dialogue with the words , like Angela said were support to ROCK SOLID ! Also when I read your comment about the Black Hills of South Dakota , I couldn’t help to say 🎵 there lived a young boy named Rocky Racoon Ah 🎵 fun Monday jumble ! Everyone enjoy the start of the week !!!

  5. Toda’s puzzle was cryptic enough to rob me from a blind solve. In fact, after the anagrams were easily solved, took a minute or two to sort out the answer. Obviously, should have seen the ROCK sooner. Wonderful history contained in the Black Hills and I thank you for the excellent history lesson. Further south in Texas/Oklahoma area, one might want to read “Empire of the Summer Moon”, which chronicles Quanah Parker and the rise and fall of the Comanches. Until Taco Tuesday !!

  6. This Jumble is so full of shadow solutions that they kept coming up when I tried to find the intended solution. One of them is right next door to the intended solution of ROCK SOLID, namely ROCK IDOLS. Maybe these two people were rock stars. There is a rock group made of Native Americans, namely Redbone. There are many other shadow solutions, including DiSK COLOR, CORK SOLID, KIDS COLOR, CORD SICKO, and DOOR SLICK.

    • …And the puzzle’s question speaks of the location. So which of these fits the scenario? SMH…

  7. Hi J’s ! Puzzle was really fun – and was “ROCK SOLID”, the words came to me quick, but I will sit in my “CHAIR” as I “SHRINK” from the heat, not meaning to be “DROLL” but the puzzle itself ran “HOLLOW” for me – it must be the heat, but finally got it ! Until tomorrow, everyone have a sunny but cooler day !

  8. No blind solve but did see rock so that made for a successful cartoon solution. When my grandson and I went to Mt. Rushmore a few years back we saw the Crazy Horse Monumental construction. Sounds like it will continue to be a work in progress for many years to come. Happy Monday all!
