1. Urgent: Less Than a Week Left to Help America's Forests

Many people spent Labor Day weekend camping, hiking or 
climbing in America's great national parks and forests. 
But the peace, quiet and environmental health of these 
natural places is threatened by the buzzing and polluting 
of off-road vehicles (ORV). Our forests suffer greatly 
from highly damaging and uncontrolled ORV use. Time is 
running out! Tell the U.S. Forest Service how you feel 
about the pollution and safety of our public lands.

While there is a place for all of these recreational 
vehicles in our public land system, these off-road 
vehicles are major sources of air, water, and noise 
pollution nationwide. By the most conservative estimates, 
there are at least 11 million dirt bikes, all-terrain 
vehicles (ATVs), snowmobiles, and jet skis in the United 
States, and they can go almost everywhere on our nation's 
public lands and waters.

The Kerwood Wolf Education Center is committed to the 
survival of wolves worldwide. A government licensed 
non-profit wolf center, Kerwood's wolf education and 
advocacy campaigns span the globe. From Alaska to Canada 
to Europe, Kerwood's Care2 Connect members are a 
"voice for wolves" everywhere.

Kerwood Wolf Education Center is striving to abolish 
Alaska's barbaric aerial wolf hunts and the current legal 
hunting, trapping and snaring of wolves across Canada. 
If you love wolves and want to be active in the struggle

4. Featured Petition:  Global Warming Threatens Health of World's Oceans

Did you know that the oceans absorbed 48 percent of the 
carbon dioxide emitted into the air by humans over the 
last two centuries? At that rate, impacts from global 
warming could damage the ability for many ocean creatures 
to survive. Please help by signing this important petition!  

Between 1800 and 1994 the oceans absorbed 118 billion 
metric tons of carbon -- equalling the weight of 118 
billion small cars! What happens now? According to the 
study, the increased carbon can affect the acidity of the 
oceans, slow the development of coral reefs and shelled 
sealife -- creatures that represent the base of the 
foodchain in the ocean. Such a disruption to the foodchain
can severely affect the balance of ocean life with 
potentially catastrophic results. 

Take a moment today to stop this assault on the oceans. 
Sign the petition and urge Olympia Snowe, Chairwoman of 
the Senate Subcommittee on Oceans, Fisheries, and Coast 
Guard to fund renewable energy sources and efforts to
