AZDDE – DAZED

WHONS – SHOWN

DAANSL – SANDAL

SUDJTA – ADJUST

CARTOON ANSWER:  WHEN THE 1, 3, QUESTION MARK AND EXCLAMATION POINT MET, THEY DISCUSSED – – –

DED   SON   ND   ADS  =  ODDS AND ENDS

Good Morning, Everyone!        1️⃣⁉️ THAT’S ONE WAY TO END IT… ⁉️3️⃣

🎶 Your pillow wasn’t slept upon your …closet was empty, too…All of your shirts and ties were gone there…wasn’t a trace of you. How could you go and leave so completely? Nothing was left of all the memories that…we used to share…
Just an empty tube of toothpaste, and a half-filled cup of coffee…ODDS AND ENDS of a beautiful love affair…ODDS AND ENDS of a beautiful love affair…🎶 “Odds and Ends” – Dionne Warwick 1969

1️⃣⁉️For a puzzle that loves letters, I think I’m a little DAZED,
With numbers SHOWN and characters, you think we should be fazed?
It’s easy to ADJUST, I guess…punctuation’s not a threat,
On 9/13 we had a bunch all dining, don’t forget.
And while no one’s wearing SANDALs, we’re not calling it slip-shod,
(I had no idea I’d fit that word, this one is kind of hard…)
What we do need to remember, is that here we’re amongst friends,
Whether numbers, letters…it’s all good, and it’s all ODDS AND ENDS! ⁉️3️⃣

With all of today’s words being Sweet Repeats, none of them caused a pause. I did though have three friends telling me that they first saw SWOON in what was SHOWN for our second word. But I still won’t COUNT it as a stumper. So, I’m leaving it up to you, Readers…What word did you QUESTION this morning?

Moving on to our cartoon, we see the Numbers 1 and 3, LINED up at the top of a page of LOOSE LEAF PAPER. Below them, we have an EXCLAMATION POINT and a QUESTION MARK. I was hoping our PAPER would be from a LEGAL PAD, but that’s not the CASE…Seeing the Hole Punch at left, below the Exclamation Point, makes that pretty Black and WHITE. The four are engaged in a conversation, and the BINDER here is how they feel about themselves…But if you pay close attention, you’ll NOTE that what we’re seeing are the ODDS: #’s 1 and 3...and the ENDS of sentences, the Exclamation Point and the Question Mark. So, in answer to our QUESTION? They discussed…ODDS AND ENDS! Well WRITE it down, and COUNT it as another great solution for David! The man definitely NUMBERS amongst the best!

Ok, eye candy…ODDly enough, the two Characters to the left, appear a bit more radical than the others…Number 1, in Yellow claims it isn’t easy always being first, and our Red EXCLAMATION, POINTS out that people STRESS him to no END…Our Number 3, to the right, a basic Brown color, seems more Conservative, and CHARMING…while our QUESTION MARK, smiling, is ASKING to be heard, all the while standing on a CURVE. If I didn’t know better, I’d think Politics were at play here…but to what END? Anyway, the eye candy today? It has to be the cute little pink TONGUES Jeff’s drawn within each of them…TALK about a clever TWIST! So, There you have it Folks, Done! Have a great day, Everyone! And remember…It’s good to make a POINT of COUNTING our Blessings…No QUESTION about it! 1️⃣⁉️3️⃣🙋🏻

  1. The gladiator was left DAZED when he lost a SANDAL and had to ADJUST to being SHOWN as vulnerable.
Not familiar with D. Warwick song, Angela, but the lyrics certainly are perfect.
For some reason I could not get excited about today’s cartoon. Nothing popped out and by the time I got the solution I was not groaning or smiling, just blah…..Must be the weather’s effect??
Your puns and poem helped a little—-thanks for all you do.
Off to the hospital again to fill in for a colleague on a short journey.
Take Tuesday as it comes today.

    • Good Morning, Earl..You may not believe this, but everyone I’m speaking with this morning, and last night also…are voicing the same sentiments. Ennui, tiredness…general blah…What is it? So, if I did help you any, I’m glad, and you’re welcome…Too bad it hasn’t hit me yet! 😂 I’m dragging too…Great sentence, and thanks for the Shout Outs. I couldn’t really get into it as much as I wanted to this morning….And today’s song? Give it a listen later, I think you’ll like it. Once again..Kudos to you for the good you do…Hope your day improves, Earl..🙋🏻

  2. Good morning. Had to rescue Jumble from the garbage bin again. I classify jumble as better than being dumped there every morning. I’ll also have to check out your song Angela, although the title fits perfectly. Great job on the poem and puns as well as Earl on his work with the words. I would think the knight is slightly under dressed in his metal suit and lance wearing only sandals. If I wasn’t absolutely positive that today was Tuesday and doing today’s jumble. I would without a doubt believe it was yesterday. No problem with the words. I went straight down the row without any hesitation. The cartoon answer was of little challenge. It was a cute finish to a dull theme. Until tomorrow stay well.

    • 🎶Hello, Brooklyn…well Hello, Brooklyn..It’s so nice to have you back where you belong…🎶.I definitely missed you those days you took off! I’ll make you laugh…I posted the puzzle this morning, and guess what? My email went into my Junk folder! And I’ve told you that it’s happened to me many times before,,,But I have to admit, you seem to be on a winning streak…Thats a lot of days in a row..I wish I knew what to tell you…Thanks for the Shout Outs, and I have to agree, today was an easy, breezy go of it..The cute finish to a dull theme? 😂 😂Brooklyn..You have such a way with words! 😉 Stay well, and have a great day…Talk to you later..❗️🙋🏻

  3. When they do the numbers and punctuation marks every once in a while, are they always the same colors? I wanted to go back to the ones they had recently but didn’t know the dates?

      • ROTFL! Jeff…I think we all know this by now…I hope so anyway…I mention it at least once a week…But I did make it sound as if you “did” the tongues this morning. I mean you did draw them…And as far as the coloring of them goes…We didn’t expect the guy in Kansas to screw that up too now, did we? Maybe I should have esCHEWed the whole thing? 😂 🙋🏻

    • Good Morning, Clay. What an ODD QUESTION! I’m not sure of the dates either, but I can look for you…You’ll have to spot me some time though..But I will get back to you…❗️🙋🏻

    • Ok, Clay. I have something for you. Since I’d already looked these two dates up early this morning, I can give you this..On August 13th, we had a puzzle whose answer was: EVEN TEMPERED. The puzzle had to do with a Sudoku game. The colors of the numbers were: 1-Burgundy, 2-Blue, 3-Yellow, and 4-Black. There was a mystery number over to the side, whose identity Jeff never divulged, and it was Green. On September 13th, (Am I denoting a pattern here? Is 13 a favorite number of someone)? 😉 we had the Punctuation Fest, if you recall…The “Just a Dash” puzzle. The Question mark that day was Gold…The other characters were a Pink Hyphen, a Green Dollar Sign, and a Green Tilde. So, is there a method to the madness of the man in Kansas? Perhaps he’s a lost soul searching for those RUBY RED Slippers..and it’s taken a toll on his vision? Maybe COLORED his thinking? Shall we call him RED, in LIGHT of all this?? So many QUESTIONS! But…you got me! And I just came across another puzzle..but it’ll have to W8! Because if I burn these sausage and peppers? My NUMBER may be up! 1️⃣3️⃣🙋🏻

    • Hey Clay. Good Morning. I didn’t forget about you y’day, I just couldn’t find the time to get back to you…Ok, the other puzzle that I came across did involve numbers, but it was a classroom setting, and the numbers were written by a teacher on a board, not featured as characters themselves. In fact, there were two like that. June 3rd, the GIVE IT “SUM” THOUGHT puzzle, and August 30th, the day we had NEXT TO NOTHING. So, this last search unfortunately ADDED up to NOTHING! Hope SUM of this helped…😉 Talk to you later.🔢🙋🏻

  4. Hi all – Usually Z’s, Q’s and X’s are giveaways, but I had to look 3 times at the first word to realize I was DAZED and confused.
Didn’t see what the answer was getting at, but figured AND was the middle word and the rest became obvious. Seeing the hole in the paper, I thought they might be “comparing notes.”

    Have a great day, everyone.

Angela, I don’t know about “radical”, but if the 1 jumped on top of the 3, would it be irrational?
You gave us a Dionne Warwick song I’d never heard, thanks! It reminds me of two of my favorites, Hall and Oates’ “She’s Gone”, and Joni singing
🎵”But when he’s gone, me and those lonesome blues collide
The bed’s too big; the frying pan’s too wide”🎵

    • Betty! There’s water falling from the sky over here! HELP! What do I do…call 911? 😂😂 #Weatherwimps

      • Right you are Steve. I woke up during the night and said, “What’s that noise?” It’s been so long since we’ve had rain that we don’t know how to act anymore when it arrives. This is Fleet Week too so I’m wondering if it will put a damper on their activities. Totally rooting for your A’s. Would love to see them win. They’re a neat team.

    • …If the 1 jumped on top of the 3..I think it would be 2 much to bear! And 10 what? Would we hear that 7 8 9? Violence, cannabalism? Have you forgotten this is a Family Blog? 😂 A little deFOURum, please…G, I’m so surprised that you’ve never heard this song. And it’s a such a good one too, right? Classic Burt Bacharach…The man’s a genius…I hope you liked it…Have a good one, Bud. Talk to you later.❗️🙋🏻

  5. Cute puzzle this morning. For some reason shown took me the longest to solve but the cartoon answer wasn’t difficult. Have a happy Tuesday everyone.

  6. Hi Betty..Good Morning. You join my pre-dawn players, with Shown. And the funny thing is, when it last was SHOWN, back on February 8th, almost identically as WHOSN, no one blinked an eye. Just the way the mind works sometimes, I guess. And a Happy Tuesday to you too! Enjoy! ❗️🙋🏻

  7. Sandal gave me a slight pause,as did the final solution. And was obvious as the 3 letter word with ends and odds quickly following.

    • Hey Professor…I believe you’re the first vote for Sandal…All in all, it was a pretty easy solve..Hope you’re enjoying your day. Be well! 🙋🏻
