For her residency period at airWG, Mire Lee alters the usage of given time and space where instead of the artist, visitors are welcomed to occupy the space in a private set-up and/or to stay overnight. There are six site-specific artworks and six texts, all of them are commissioned and produced for the occasion. Continuing from the interests in Lee’s practice, the project deals with subject matters such as domesticity, eroticism, intimacy, and seclusion as a collective experience.

Among the artworks, Bernke Klein Zandvoort curated the bedside table: in a closed drawer lay the texts of three Dutch writers. Klein Zandvoort wants to connect the reading experience of the texts – that explore the grey areas between vulnerability and violence, intimacy and exposure, dominance and submission, victimhood and sabotage, fact and fiction – with the intimacy of the night. In the seclusion of the bedroom, the eyes of the reader and the words of the writer get tied in a temporary pact.

The visits are arranged in two ways. There are daytime visits between 14:00 and 19:00, for which you can book a one hour slot, free of charge. One daytime slot is available for one person, or up to two visitors. There are also nighttime visits, where you can make a reservation to stay overnight. This option is available for a maximum of two guests, for 15 euros per night. Nighttime visits last from 19:30 to 11:00 the next day. You will receive an info sheet with information about your stay, once you place the booking.

Voor haar residentieperiode in airWG past Mire Lee het gebruik van de gegeven tijd en ruimte aan: in plaats van de kunstenaar worden bezoekers uitgenodigd om de ruimte in een private opzet te bezoeken en/of er te overnachten. Er zijn zes site-specifieke kunstwerken en zes teksten, allen in opdracht gemaakt en voor de gelegenheid geproduceerd. Voortbouwend op de interesses in Lee's praktijk, behandelt het project onderwerpen als huiselijkheid, erotiek, intimiteit, en afzondering als een collectieve ervaring.

Tussen de kunstwerken cureerde Bernke Klein Zandvoort het nachtkastje: in een lade liggen de teksten van drie Nederlandse schrijvers. Klein Zandvoort wil de leeservaring van de teksten - die de grijze gebieden tussen kwetsbaarheid en geweld, intimiteit en ontmaskering, dominantie en onderwerping, slachtofferschap en sabotage, feit en fictie verkennen - verbinden met de intimiteit van de nacht. In de beslotenheid van de slaapkamer worden de ogen van de lezer en de woorden van de schrijver in een tijdelijk pact verbonden.

De bezoeken worden op twee manieren georganiseerd. Overdag tussen 14.00 en 19.00 uur, waarvoor je gratis kunt reserveren. Het overdag bezoek van een uur is verkrijgbaar voor één persoon, of twee personen. Er zijn ook nachtelijke bezoeken, waarvoor je een overnachting kunt reserveren. Deze optie is beschikbaar voor maximaal twee gasten, voor 15 euro per nacht. De nachtelijke bezoeken duren van 19:30 tot 11:00 uur de volgende dag. Je ontvangt meer informatie over je verblijf, zodra je de reservering plaatst.
