Thread: [NEXUS] WATCHTOWER 7: In the Face of Overwhelming Adversity, We Break Things.

[Entrance]

Sakura nods weakly. "You're right. I'm sorry Adir, I... I just don't know what to think."

She still doesn't look up from her feet.

[Entrance]

"Oh, don't apoligize." Adir says, frowning sadly again. "It's not something to be taken lightly. You need to think about it. And I'll respect whatever decision you come to."

[Entrance]

Sakura looks up at Adir and gives him a small smile. She turns to the stag and goes up on her tip toes to kiss him. A person forgets height differences sometimes.

And maybe one of them should notice Harnel.

[Entrance]

Adir leans into it, probably lifting her up a little to help.

And a moment later breaks it, smiling brightly, before noticing Harnel. He blurts, "Oh. Uh. Hi."

[Entrance]

Sakura suppresses the urge to giggle and generally looks like she would be blushing if she could.

"Hey Harnel. How are you doing?"

[Entrance]

"Uh, hi," he says dumbly trying to think of what to say after that. He would definitely be blushing if he could

"I was wondering how I might formally join the Watchtower."

[Entrance]

"Uh... Oh, the papers! Right." Adir, who can in fact blush, gets a little hot. He quickly turns away from the others, looking towards a nearby doorway. "One second."

The stag hurries into another room, returning with the sign-up sheet in the first post of the thread. "Here. If everything seems fine, which I'm sure it will, you can join."

[Entrance]

Sakura stands a bit awkwardly when Adir steps out. You'd hardly believe it with the amount of interaction she's been getting, but she's not exactly very good at socializing.

Although pretty much all of that interaction has been with Adir and Cessie.

[Entrance/Main Room]

"Thanks, Adir," he moves off to fill in the different points of the form. He's glad his father taught him to read and write.

Once he is finished, he goes back and asks Adir, "Where should I put this?"

A small... cat... appears. At least, you would say that it's a cat. It's certainly cat-like? But what kind of cat has tentacles, and eyes of white fire?

Not this cat, that's for certain. You must have been hallucinating there for a second. It's a perfectly ordinary white cat, with a perfectly ordinary black collar. Anything you see that would imply otherwise (like say, its shadow waving jauntily at you) are clearly tricks of the light and therefore are not to be believed.
"You can give that to me. It's what I'm good for."
The cat glares balefully at Harnel.

[Main Room]

Harnel is perturbed by the eldritch kitty, but not enough to be terribly surprised. He's seen some stange things in the short time he's been here.

"Alright then," he hands the sheet to the cat. The words are blocky and a bit hard to read, but nothing is misspelled or the like. He just doesn't have a lot of practice writing

The cat takes the sheet, not taking its eyes off of Harnel.
"So you're the dumbass who got captured by a cult. Hashamael or Horton or something. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm sure that's what you're expecting I say. But frankly I've had all the moron incompetents I can deal with joining up."
And then it disappears.

[Main Room]

Sakura stares blankly at where the cat was for a moment. "That... wasn't very nice."

I don't think she's as adjusted to the Nexus weirdness as most others are.

[Main Room]

Wenomir undeadtimes, glaring at the spot that the cat just vacated. This cat can be like that. I have no idea why KR keeps him around. And if Harnel escaped, we must hurry to the hotel. Maybe we'll be able to get there before all the cultists escape.

[Cessie's Room]

As she shuts the door to her room, the mage closes her eyes sighing, had she just complimented his eyes? That was hardly appropriate, she was married, even if she hadn't seen Aegnor for some time she couldn't go around complimenting other men's eyes, it seemed wrong in her mind... or was she just being silly again?

Harnel did remind her of one of Aegnor's self she had seen within his mind, his dragonself, at first when she that self's scales, she had been very doubtful about him, but after a while she had learned to like the feel of them...

But they weren't alike at all otherwise though beyond the overprotectiveness that they both seemed to share, then again, as far as she knew all men appeared to have that trait towards women.

Cessie shakes her head, she was far too tired to think about things like this, she lays down in the bed with her clothes on, she felt too tired to change into her sleeping dress, she was used to sleep with her clothes on.

But as she closes her eyes, her mind is again invaded by thoughts, despite how weary she felt, ever since Aegnors disapperance she had tried to fill her life with books, magic, family and friends. She had to somehow fill the void that Aegnor had left behind and it had succeded, she hadn't been drowned by grief.

But right here, right now she still felt like something was missing, that none of those things could replace, his touch. No one had touched her like that in four years.
It was not something sinful, they were married after all, she were allowed such thoughts, but lately she had begun to desire it more and more. It was a frustration that left her with a feeling of longing.

She once again attempts to recall the memory of all those nights they had together, him stroking her hair, feeling his skin against hers, the memories were all there, but the feeling of them had been lost in time now. It was of no use.

She didn't really want to put too much time into these throughts, after a good night of sleep she could think clearer and able to put her mind at more important things.

After some relaxing the events of the day finally caughts up with her and she finally manages to fall asleep, her mind managing to push away those persisting thoughts once again.

[Main Room]

"Is there an empty room I might be able to take for now? I just need to get some rest." Harnel says, ignoring the insults the cat had thrown at him. It wasn't like he hadn't heard worse before.

He certainly looks tired, and the bloodstains on his only set of clothes will likely need to be washed out

[Main Room]

Wenomir turns towards Harnel. Yes, you can pick a room in either of the barracks. Go get some rest while we move against those cultists...

[Main Room]

Harnel nods to Wenomir, "If you find my sword there, I'd like to get it back. It has sentimental value."

If nobody stops him, he's going to go to the opposite barracks from Cessie's room, assuming they're separated by gender, regardless of how wrong he is. Once he finds an empty room he'll go in, strip off his shirt, and flop down onto the bed.

He doesn't go to sleep immediately though.

On his home world, Harnel was a monster - a beast to be killed or used, and then discarded. It was rare to find someone who actually considered him a person.

But here, it was different. Nobody was surprised by how he looked, nobody thought of him as a monster, and he had een been able to walk the streets without someone screaming. In fact, he'd saved a young girl earlier!

And then his thoughts turn to Cessie. She wasn't looking at him like some kind of abomination. she'd even complimented his eyes. Maybe...

Gah! What was he thinking? Cessie was married for the sake of the gods! He curled up tightly into a ball on the bed. She'd had those nice blue eyes...

Harnel eventually drifts off to sleep, and his dreams are of getting lost in a blue ocean...

[Main Room]

"Mean cat." Adir mumbles as he undeadtimes, glancing at Harnel as he leaves. The stag looks at Wenomir. "Should I be getting ready to go?"

Then a more wary glance at Sakura. "Should we?"

[Main Room]

Sakura looks down at her feet. "Um..." She looks back up to Adir. "You go. I'll be fine here. I'm sure I can find something to do. I could spend some time with Sarget."

[Cessie's Room==>Main Room]

The mage awakens slowly, raising up from her bed as she scans the four walls surrounding her, it wasn't home, it had just been another of those dreams.
As she gets up and checks herself in the mirror, she immediately feels colly. Frowning, she fixes her hair and then goes to pick up some new clothes to put in that wonderful bag of holding.

She needed a bath, that much was clear, but first breakfast and perhaps a few words with Wenomir... and Harnel.

However as she doesn't find anywhere she can eat, Cessie goes to ask the only ones not deadtimed, Adir and Sakura, "Good morning, you don't know where I can find a bath and breakfast in this place do you?"

[Main Room]

Adir gives Sakura a nod. He seems... a little unhappy, not having her along.

But he smiles and looks about to say something before Cessie steps in. "Oh. Mornin', Cessie." He directs her to the showers and the kitchens, then. "Will you be coming along to the hotel?"

[Main Room]

Sakura doesn't exactly look happy about not going along either, but she knows it's not the best plan for her to go.

The dryad smiles at Cessie as she enters. "Good morning."

[Main Room]

She returns their smiles as she replies to Adir's question, "That depends, when are we going? I honestly thought you would be going without me since I had to sleep, it's likely they have moved on already if we have waited this long, thats what I would do my only bargain chip had escaped." Cessie replies, feeling slightly disappointed that the cultists might have escaped but yet somewhat relieved that she might not have to fight them.

[Main Room]

"I think we're leaving pretty soon." Adir says, shrugging. "I don't know exactly when. If they've gotten away, well..." He doesn't really know. The stag just shrugs again.

[Main Room]

"I see, do you think I still have time for a bath though? There are baths here right?" She asks, not really understanding why anyone would have water constantly hitting them when a nice bath was so much better.

[Main Room]

Sakura points in the right direction. "Nope, no baths. There are showers [wherever the showers are]."

[Main Room]

"What she said." Adir doesn't tell the mage that the showers are public and mixed, too. Of course, he has little problem with public nudity, mostly just wearing clothes because he's gotten used to it. "But yeah, you should have time for a shower."

[Main Room]

"I suppose..." She really didn't like showers, for one, she didn't understand how they worked and secondly it felt much more public then a bath, but if no other options were available she were pretty much forced to.

"Thanks then, I'll see you later."

[Main Room]

Adir nods to Cessie again. "No problem. See you in a bit."

Once the mage goes up, the stag returns his attention to Sakura. "So... I should probably go get ready."
