Millfield School is seeking a Groom to join our growing and dynamic team.
Millfield is one of the leading UK independent schools for boys and girls, aged 2-18 years. Millfield is not like other schools and never has been. Founded in 1935, Millfield’s vision is to be the world leader for the development of children. There are nearly 1300 students at the senior school (year 9 to U6) and a further 450 students at the neighbouring Prep School. Millfield School has a large Equestrian Centre which has space for over 50 horses with both indoor and outdoor arenas. We have ten riding school horses plus student livery horses. As a groom, you will be expected to care for your allocated horses and help with other horses on staff days off. You will gain experience in all aspects of stable management and will be actively encouraged to improve your skills with our training programme receiving regular Riding and Stable Management tuition. Millfield Equestrian is a BHS Approved Centre able to provide staff training to fellowship level. In return for your hard work Millfield offer payment towards ongoing exam/assessment fees, a competitive salary, vehicle training, discounted meals, accommodation if required and more.
We are seeking Groom on a full-time basis. The hours of work are an average of 48 hours per week during term time, with slightly reduced hours during the holidays. Days off are allocated on a rota of 2 days one week and 1½ days the following week.
On site accommodation is also available at a rate of £100 per month and Grooms also have access to discounted meals on site.
