They look great. I’m not into it like you are but learned something. We have a round stone but haven’t had much luck with it either in the new range.
Thanks, hitt!
I've not been getting consistently good results with the new oven, but today's effort came out okay.

If you are launching your pizzas onto the stone off a peel, a square or rectangular stone gives more wiggle room.
If you use a pan or screen under the pie then it's not really an issue.
Also, on the Pizza Making Forum many folks have good success using a steel instead of a stone.
Short stint under the broiler can help with top color/cooking as well.

Good morning, Fran, and mixers!

Going to have a go at making a couple of pizzas today. I had pretty good results for quite a few years but the old oven passed on last December.
I just have not been having much success with our new oven. I don't try very often anymore but got the urge the other day and made some dough to use this weekend.

Other than that, laundry, vapelaxing, and waiting for mixmail.

Morning all, still using the AC here in Vegas-land, hopefully next month we'll quit using it. Then the heater sometime next year. :) One benefit of Vegas is NO SNOW. I hate snow and will not live in it.

Been playing my Xbox game and hope to watch some football, although my 49ers don't play until tomorrow night.

    New mix...

    Vanilla Milkshake

    CAP Milkshake 2.5%
    MB Milkshake 1.5%
    SSA Classic Vanilla 1%
    INW Shisha Vanilla 1%
    WF Vanilla Cream Extra 1%

It's good off the mix, at 3 and 7 days BUT it really shines after a 3-4 week steep.

It tastes like a decent vanilla milkshake we would get back in the day!!!

CAP Milkshake is excellent but IMHO it needs help. That's where MB Milkshake comes in. MB Milkshake adds a very nice texture and a pleasant, but light, malted milk note. Together they make a well rounded and more complete milkshake profile.

I wanted bright tasting vanillas for my milkshake... vanillas that say "we're here" but not in an obnoxious manner. SSA CV and INW SV fit the bill perfectly.

After a couple test mixes I felt the overall milkshake profile was missing some creaminess and thickness. WF VCE is perfect for adding both. And it adds an excellent vanilla note to the two vanillas.

Also tried different fruits in the milkshake mix with three 5ml testers. One with pineapple/mango, one with strawberry and one with peach/orange. Any fruit combos will work with this mix.

@Zazie can you please add this to your blog? TIA :)

Sounds good. I’ll have to mix some. I’d probably prefer it with fruit in it.

    Good morning :w00t:

Woke up to a HOT house today. My youngest daughter was cold and cranked the heat. She likes roaming around the place in her undies... I suggested she consider adding a layer or two, some socks and slippers. Was told "you're funny". Yep. Oh well, such is life.

My wife is the opposite. She'll walk around in pants and a long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve shirt and crank the AC to 72 then I get cold in short and a t-shirt.

@gloopdegurp, WOW... your pizzas look really good!!!
    Thank you, SMT!
My results aren't as consistently good since we got a new oven but it might just take a bit to figure out how to tweak the process to get there again. Poor results for a few attempts sapped my enthusiasm a bit.
Yesterdays pizzas were a step in the right direction.

My mixing scale was originally picked up for my pizza/baking efforts, so that was kind of a plus to already have that.
I'll probably still pick up the popular AWS mixing scale at some point though.

I’ve been working outside today. It’s a nice day and there’s a project I’ve been putting off. Behind our deck box there is a spot where the bottom of the siding was starting to rot. I cut it off and put a new piece of smart trim over it and caulked it. While I had the caulk gun and paint out I went ahead and re caulked around the windows on the back of the house and touched up the paint. It seems like trim boards never hold paint well. We had the house painted a few years ago and the rest seems fine besides a trim board here and there. I’m just waiting now for the caulk to dry so I can paint it.
