  1. Good Morning, Everyone…I hope this finds you well….
🐈 SITTING IN THE LAP OF THUGS…URY 🐈

    🎶 What’s new, PUSSYCAT?… Woah, woah…What’s new, PUSSYCAT?… Woah, woah, woah?…🎶 “What’s New PUSSYCAT”? – Tom Jones 1965 https://tinyurl.com/2vyncrs4

🐈 Ernst Blofeld, Bond antagonist, sits stroking his old cat,
He’s quite the pampered animal, it’s easy to see that…
He’s cradled in his owner’s lap, like settled in a CRANNY,
And looked after like children would be by a loving nanny…
Ernst’s tailored suit, I’m wondering…since Persian cats do shed,
The hair, and then the wrinkles won’t they likely just embed?
Is the suit made of RAYON? If so, wrinkling will appear,
I guess Ernst doesn’t mind though…cause he holds the cat so near…
Attention he does PIVOT on the cat who has no name,
Perhaps UNJUST to go nameless, but it’s true just the same…
The bottom line, they sit together, making small chitchat,
    Contentment…it seems “purr”-fect here… man and his “PURR-SIAN“ CAT…🐈

Ok, so…right off the cat, I mean bat…forget the cat. For starters anyway. Instead, let’s direct our attention to what to me is an elephant in the room. That globe. I’ve seen it pictured with Blofeld before, but what’s with that bullseye target drawn on it? …What’s the significance of the target? I know old Ernst is all about world dominance…but this seems so specific. So, the ball of yarn is in your court, Bond Fans. SHED some light for me…

Today’s words…Although we seem to be looking at new anagrams, our words are all tried and true. And except for an Early Bird thinking Cranny was Canary, things went purrfectly…And yes, I did have to endure the obvious “cat that ate the canary” comments after that, which had me SCRATCHING my head until I put a stop to it…I swear, sometimes these guys can be just a little too PETulant…

Ok, enough clutching at CLAWS…Ernst Starvo Blofeld. https://tinyurl.com/3c6h6cxs Today’s Man of the Dour. For those of you who may be aware, Blofeld is a villain featured in the James Bond novels and movies. And seeing him here today is somewhat timely, since the 25th James Bond movie, “No Time To Die” is finally being released next month, after a long delay. https://tinyurl.com/2r5h7hbw So we see Ernst, sitting in his trademark winged swivel chair, listening to the PURRing of his contented, tail-waving, white Persian cat, https://tinyurl.com/2zs586ue while speaking with his unnamed right-hand man. And between the dialogue…”SOUNDS so content”…the question…”HAPPY, LONG-HAIRED kitty”, and especially the absence of the word “Cat”…let’s face it, Folks, this one fell right into our LAPS…It’s obvious this Kitty was a “PURR-SIAN” CAT…And taking a page from the Jumble Handbook itself, I’ve purposely not yet mentioned the best part of the puzzle. The line of dialogue stating…”You two have really BONDed”? Brilliant! Classic Knurek whimsy! SPY love it!

So, There you have it Folks, Done. Be well, stay safe and here’s hoping we can all manage to have a PURRfect day today…🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  2. …AND OUT OF THE ARCHIVES…

The puzzle of 08/05/16…The question: “The happy kitty was this kind of cat”…The solve: A “PURR-SIAN”! 🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  3. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Trying to free the PERSIAN CAT that had managed to PIVOT itself in such a way as to get stuck in the armoire’s CRANNY, she felt it so UNJUST that it had lashed out and tore her RAYON blouse…🤷🏻‍♀️

🧵🪡 With all the UNJUST comments, her thoughts begin to PIVOT,
On maybe changing the design, to something that might rivet…
Attention to her RAYON line, she worked on it so hard,
She felt stuck in a CRANNY now with all the disregard…
Maybe she’ll go with abstract print…with colors that would splat,
‘Cause obviously no one likes her silkscreened PERSIAN CAT! 🪡🧵

  4. ⚡️⚡️⚡️FLASHBACK FRIDAY⚡️⚡️⚡️

Can you solve these blasts from the past? Clicking on the anagram will give you the answer and definition. Good luck!

  5. Anagrams gave me no heartburn, solution gave a little gastritis….
Quotation marks always sink my boat………………

  6. Good morning. Two for two. No problem with the words or cartoon answer. But not a blind solve. You couldn’t have picked a better song 🎵 for today Angela. Until tomorrow stay well and stay safe.

    • Good Morning, Paul. Tk you…And hoping you’re staying well and safe too. 🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  7. I also initially saw “canary” and thought purr-fect for the blind solve. But once the anagrams were solved, it was “petty” easy. And another great song choice, Angela!

    • LOL! 👏🏻👏🏻 “Petty” easy, indeed! Good Morning, Don. And thank you…Enjoy your day…🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  8. The oh so sedentary cat
Knows exactly where life is at
    The warmth up she laps
    Lots of resting and naps
So what if she just gets all fat!

    • Good Morning, Helen. I don’t think any of what I wrote this morning reads along the same line as yours. I seemed to have concentrated more on the Bond movies….But, I’ll offer these two…🙋🏻‍♀️

🤷🏻‍♀️ As all die-hard Bond fans well know,
The Cat’s a big part of the show…
But you’d think with his fame,
      He’d be given a name…
Yet he still goes by Persian John Doe! 🤷🏻‍♀️

🕵🏻‍♂️ “Bond, James Bond”, a line we all know,
And the Jumble quite often does show…
      A puzzle of Bond,
      Guess David’s quite fond…
Of the Spy and Blofeld, his main foe! 🕵🏻‍♂️

      • Yes Angela, I applied a generic lens to the puzzle.

I was intrigued by the globe depicted, with (ancient) Persia pinpointed. As for James Bond movies, I’ve always found them just a bit too corny, although for all Scots and ex-Scots like me, Sean Connery will always have a place in our hearts.
We really should set James Bond on the trail of Covid. He would be sure to annihilate it.

        • I’m not a big Bond fan either…but as far as Sir Sean goes? Well that’s a different story. The man’s taken my breath away many a time! 😉 🙋🏻‍♀️

        • Hejen…I think this rhyme may be suitable to follow your train of thought. And your comment about ancient Persia being pinpointed on the map just hit me…I do believe you’ve SHED the light I was looking for. It was another of Jeff’s whimsical Gems! Thank you! 🌎🙋🏻‍♀️

🐈 While cats live a leisurely life,
So pampered and void of all strife…
          The one we see here,
          He of the long hair…
Has contentment that truly runs rife! 🐈

          • Thanks Mike. I got my new prescription glasses yesterday so maybe they’ve made a difference to the amount of detail I’m noticing!

  9. Rayon stumped me,as I was thinking ornery, then cranny looked like canary. But straightening those errors out,purr-sian was a quick solve on an overcast Friday morning.

    • Good guess, Ronald, but all the Bond connections couldn’t be overlooked. The clues are always there…one just needs to SCRATCH the surface! 😉 Have a good one, Ronald. Be well and stay safe…🐈🙋🏻‍♀️

  10. I’m with Chuck this morning as I too first thought of ornery and canary. Cartoon solution was easier. Hope all of you have a purrfect day.

  11. CRANNY took some effort, and like others, looked like canary or cannery. The other three jumbles were easy. For the answer, CAT was a given, as kitten was allover the cartoon. PURR was also easy to find. However, I had no idea that persian cats had long hair, so it took me a while to figure out the letters IANS should be SIAN.

    • I didn’t know either, Dennis. I’m not a cat person…But I did happen to know that this Bond cat was a Persian, so it automatically came to me…And I’ve learned that between the dialogue and the question, it all comes out in the wash! 😉 Everything’s mentioned for a reason…And thank God for Google! 😂 Enjoy your day, Dennis. Be well and stay safe…🐈🙋🏻‍♀️
