Ariadne is an open source spoken dialogue system developed as a thesis research by Dr. Matthias Denecke to prove a generic task and language independent dialogue system that generates interactions with users based on a description of an application.

Ariadne has been developed at the Interactive System Laboratories at Carnegie Mellon University, USA and University of Karlsruhe, Germany two of the leading research labs for natural language processing and speech interface development. Ariadne has been used in several profit seeking and non-profit seeking projects including a NASA robot project.
