Salary Grade: NC18  $  Salary Range:  $58,294 - 102,015

This position will report to the Eastern Lead Project Engineer. This position is responsible for the administration and supervision of the State and Federal funding sources. This position works with public airports and provides support with planning, design, construction and maintenance of asphalt pavement, lighting systems, and facilities. This position holds annual meetings with airports and stakeholders to review programs and project status, attends final inspections, and is the primary point of contact for a region of airports. Review and comment on project plan sets, specifications, and scope of professional services. This position will require the ability to communicate effectively, to include public speaking, technical writing, and conflict resolution. Management prefers a strong background in pavement design, project management, contracts, bid process, and professional service procurement.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of principals and practices of civil engineering as they apply to aviation and/or transportation design practices, plan and specification review, and technical solutions for engineering challenges.
  • Experience using engineering judgement and best practices to manage multiple, simultaneous projects at different stages of work.
  • Experience coordinating, leading and tracking follow up requirements of meetings with multiple stakeholders, as well as build relationships and resolve conflicts.
  • Experience managing and training direct reports as well as the ability to educate non-engineers on principles and practices.
  • Advanced experience with budget management, tracking schedules, creating spend plans, and phasing construction stages based on these constraints. 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
