In UK the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 update prioritises Online Safety and it is now very much 'standalone' and requires specific training / workshops for the Whole School, (staff, pupils & parents). Here in UK, it is now mandatory for schools to have Online Safety training, and this includes British International Schools and schools teaching the UK Curriculum. That said, Online Safety is of paramount importance, irrespective of where a school is situated. All children, teenagers and young adults use devices, social media, apps, online games, and gaming communities, Students’ online behaviour can have a massive impact on students’ future goals and aspirations (through Cyber Vetting by employers and Universities). Online Safety is not just about ‘stranger danger’- it has moved on - and up to date guidance and awareness has never been more important.
(Suggested audience: School Leaders, All Staff, Governors, Executives welcome).
