UPDATE: WASA said the Caroni Water Treatment Plant was partially restarted at 8:30 PM on Friday. Details here. The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of North, Central and South Trinidad, served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant, who are presently experiencing a disruption in their pipe-borne water supply, that this is due to a problem that occurred at the Raw Water Electrical Control Station of the facility, at approximately 4:30 AM this morning (Friday 25th August 2023). Emergency repair works are expected to be completed by 2:00 PM today.
The affected areas include the following: North Trinidad served by Valsayn Booster Stations A & B:
North Trinidad served by El Socorro Booster Station:
Central and South Trinidad:
The Authority further advises that it may take up to twenty-four (24) hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas following completion of these repairs. A limited truck-borne service will be available upon request. This can be requested through the following self-service options:
