On Sunday, 29 October, the clocks will go back an hour which
for many people signifies the approach of winter and gets them thinking about how they can start to prepare for what
the wintry weather may bring.
This year we will be sharing a series of simple and cheap #WeatherHacks from some of our partners to get people talking about things they do to stay safe and warm in winter weather. The hacks will focus on familiar WeatherReady themes including travelling around and staying well. Here is a link to our press release for more information.
As winter progresses we will continue to share our regular WeatherReady tips, and advice from us and our partners.
How can you get involved?
- On Sunday 29 October please show your support of the campaign by engaging with and re-sharing our social posts (see our social icons at the bottom of this email)
- Have you got any #WeatherHacks you'd like to share? Join the conversation using #WeatherHacks.
- Throughout the season, share your own advice on social media, using the hashtag #WeatherReady.
- Use and share the WeatherReady winter poster - which is available in 7 languages - and point your partners/stakeholders to the webpages
- Use one of the email signatures linking to www.metoffice.gov.uk/WeatherReady advice pages
Please share this email with your colleagues and partners so that together we can reach as many people and communities with advice and information to help them make the most of the winter weather, safely.
As always thanks for the support you continue to give to WeatherReady and in advance for your support next week and throughout the winter.
The WeatherReady team.
