Former Lebanon volleyball coach feted with OHSVCA Lifetime Achievement Award

The Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association announced Cincinnati native Tim Mersch as the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. 

Mersch, a La Salle High School graduate, started coaching in 1988 at Walnut Hills where he spent 18 years as a head coach. In 2006, Mersch moved to Lebanon High School where he coached for 13 years and won eight straight Greater Western Ohio Conference Coach of the Year awards.

On the court, Mersch recorded 517 wins and 229 losses over his 31-year career. His achievements as a coach also include 20 conference championships, eight sectional championships and one district championship. 

Outside of high school teams, Mersch coached the Southwest Ohio Thunderbirds from 1992-2005 and in 2006 started coaching for the Borderline Volleyball Club.

Mersch is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Gerri, live in Liberty Township.
