#MemorialDay 🇺🇲 #NAMISouthBay honors the brave and remembers the fallen. 🇺🇲

#NAMISouthBay's Monthly Member Meeting will be an interactive discussion on #homelessness in the South Bay, its intersection with #MentalHealth gaps, & the SBCCOG’s efforts to reach Functional Zero homelessness in the #South Bay. The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) is a joint powers authority government agency of 16 cities & Los Angeles County that share the goal of maximizing the quality of life & productivity of the South Bay subregion of #LosAngeles. Their #Homeless Task force is comprised of city leaders and service providers. The Task Force convenes once every two months to discuss innovative new solutions to combat homelessness, regional updates, & State/Federal updates. Unfortunately, a significant portion of homeless persons have a #MentalIllness. The combination of mental illnesses and a lack of housing are major issues for the South Bay and the region. #TakeTheMoment to hear Ronson Chu, the Senior Project Manager for Homeless Services of the #SBCCOG share about the work of this Task Force. #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #NAMISouthBay #NAMIGLAC #MHAM2024 #NAMI

💚 Children's Mental Health Awareness Day 💚 May 9th is  #ChildrensMentalHealthAwarenessDay and it’s a great time to #TakeTheMoment to learn or refresh your knowledge about the warning signs that may indicate a mental health crisis in children. A #MentalHealth crisis is when your child or teen is at risk of harming themselves or others, or if their emotions and behavior seem extreme and out of control.
