The over 1,000-acre, mixed-use Furst Ranch project would have 3,000 single-family homes and 5,000 multifamily units at completion.

Flower Mound has given final approval for a new development that eventually will bring over 20,000 residents to the Denton County town.

The 1,066-acre Furst Ranch project is planned at U.S. Highway 377 and Cross Timbers Road on the west side of town.

The massive development is planned to include 5,000 multifamily units, 3,000 single-family homes and 1,000 residences for seniors. There’s also room for 6 million to 8 million square feet of commercial space including retail and offices.
