one little word (2011)

my word for 2011 is...

cowbell

as in play the hell out of that cowbell,

we need more cowbell,

'I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!' (Christopher Walken, SNL)

everything is better with a little cowbell

A unconventional word I know,
words like... authentic, create, change, simplify, engage, difference
might have made more sense.

However, the word cowbell is a symbol for
being authentic, creating a difference, being the change,
simplifying, engaging in my life...

it will remind me that with
a little cowbell attitude
I will be...

kicking a little arse this year,
kicking it up a notch,
and playing the hell out of that cowbell.

Tara Whitney,
who you know (if you follow my blog)
I think walks on water
and reminds me of a scene in Nottinghill
where the dorky sister (me) walks into the loo
with the famous Anna Scott (Tara Whitney)
but sorry, I digress...

Tara posted a picture on a tweet of her
kitchen and on her chalkboard cupboard,
someone had written "more cowbell"
and I thought hell yeah,
that is going to be my motto for the year.

I did a reply tweet to Tara indicating I loved the
cowbell message and it may be my motto for 2011
and she replied suggesting it could always be my OLW.

I already had one picked out but the more I
thought about it, I couldn't rid myself of the
feeling that "cowbell" was an excellent word
to guide me through 2011.

so there we go...

COWBELL.

what did you choose?

go, cause if that's your word, you should have ONE! Plus, how fun to get people attention, annoy Scott or cheer on your future olympian :)

Maybe a "RED" one?

On a side note, here is a quote to help you on the journey:

"everything you've ever done prepared you for all you can do and be. so move forward to start a new chapter with the lessons you've learned and the strengths you've gained." - oprah

I LOVE it. When I was a kid we could run around the neighborhood and play. REALLY play. No matter how far we were, if Mom needed us or it was time for dinner, we could hear her ring that copper cowbell. To me a cowbell means it's time to come home.
