General information
Dear Teaching Professional,
The Annual Noyce Community Teacher Retreat will be held at Kennesaw State University on Thursday October 12, 2017. This half-day event is themed "3-D Learning: Tools to Teach Using Phenomena" and will bring together new and experienced teachers from the greater Atlanta area. The event will include a Keynote on 3-D learning, followed by two break out sessions for the co-construction of lesson plans and teaching materials. A working lunch will be provided during the keynote, and half-day substitute teacher costs will be reimbursed to schools for teachers who register in advance and sign in at the event, thanks in part to an NSF Noyce grant. Substitute Teacher Reimbursement
This event is scheduled for an early release day in Cobb County High Schools. We have set aside grant funds to reimburse Cobb and other Georgia school districts for half day substitute teachers, so that people can attend during a work day. We have relationships with many of the metro-Atlanta school districts in order to pay for substitute teachers, and we will use this mechanism for this event. You will arrange for time off and the substitute teacher at your school. When citing the sub code or payment mechanism, you will reference Noyce IIMPACT at Kennesaw State University and invoices will be sent to Samuel Justin Polizzi, 3201 Campus Loop Rd, ATOMS Center MD5900, Kennesaw, GA 30144 or spolizzi@kennesaw.edu.
