Robert Raymond "Bobby" Goodrich, 85, former Fort Worth city attorney, amateur boxer, working cowboy and World War II war hero, passed away from a sudden illness Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at his home.
Graveside service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. A memorial reception will be held for his many friends and relatives at River Crest Country Club following the graveside service.

Robert R. Goodrich was born June 11, 1917, in Tulsa, Okla. He was the first child of Bertha Plank Goodrich and Robert David Goodrich. His early years were spent growing up in San Antonio, San Angelo, Lampasas and Fort Worth. He attended TCU and graduated from the University of Texas where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and competed for the university boxing team. During World War II he served as a dive bomber pilot aboard USS Essex in the Pacific campaign. He was awarded numerous citations for bravery and heroism, including the Navy Cross, during two tours of duty. He returned from the war to the practice of law in Fort Worth where he made his home for over 50 years. He was city attorney for several years before entering private practice.
Bobby was an avid golfer and had many friends throughout Texas with whom he loved to play golf. He was also an accomplished bridge, gin and domino player, spending many afternoons and evenings in serious card games at his home and River Crest Country Club. He was a member of the Fort Worth Exchange Club and the Tarrant County Bar Association. In his later years, Bobby enjoyed meeting and drinking coffee with friends at La Madeleine.
Bobby was a loving husband, father and friend and will be missed by all. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Maurine Butler Goodrich; wife, Laura Blount Williams Goodrich; sister, Geraldine Goodrich Malloy; his brother, David Earl Goodrich; and his stepbrother, Gavin Raiford Garrett.
Survivors: Wife of 22 years, Alice Holforty Goodrich and her four sons, Doug, Brian, Peter and Bill Morris; son, Charles Hatton Goodrich of Trophy Club; stepchildren, Bill Pope of Corpus Christi and Sally Pope Fowler of Austin, their spouses and children as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
