Descrizione prodotto
The ‘Let It Be’ album has been newly mixed by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell in stereo, 5.1 surround DTS, and Dolby Atmos. All the new ‘Let It Be’ releases feature the new stereo mix of the album as guided by the original “reproduced for disc” version by Phil Spector and sourced directly from the original session and rooftop performance eight-track tapes. The Super Deluxe collections also feature 27 previously unreleased session recordings, a four-track ‘Let It Be’ EP, and the never before released 14-track ‘Get Back’ stereo LP mix compiled by engineer Glyn Johns in May 1969. Additionally, the Super Deluxe editions feature a 100 page hard-back book with an introduction by Paul McCartney, extensive notes and track-by-track recording information and many previously unseen photos, personal notes, tape box images and more.

Mi commuovo a leggere come Paul Mc Cartney conclude la prefazione: "It is how I want to remember The Beatles".

The First Disc Is A Wonderfully Remastered CD Version Of The Original Let It Be Album Which We All Know And Love Sounding Better Than I've Ever Heard Before And It Is Beautifully Remastered
The Second And Third Discs Are Rehearsals And Outtakes From The Sessions With Chatter And Joking Around Like You Wouldn't Believe Michael Lindsay Hoggs Original Documentary Film Would Lead You To Believe That The Beatles Were Constantly Fighting With Each Other During This Period Hopefully This Along With Peter Jackson's New Get Back Film Will Put Those Rumors To Bed Permanently Just A Warning Not All The Rehearsals And Outtakes Are Stellar Many Are Wonderful Such As George Leading The Group Through A Run Through Of All Things Must Pass Even Though In The First Verse It Sounds Like John Is Takng The Mickey Out Of It It Still Turns Into A Wonderful Three Part Harmony During The Choruses At Least, John Does A Very Rudimentary Sketch Of What Will Become Gimme Some Truth I Mean Most Of The Words Aren't Written Yet But The Basic Melody Is There And It's An Informative If Not Fully Satisfying Listen, Maggie Mae Is There And Sounds Like They Included It Just To Show You That They Lifted It From That Rehearsal Take For The Album And That It Was Originally Paired With One Of Paul McCartney's Silliest Love Songs Ever Called Fancy My Chances With You A Song That When I Listened To It Actually Made Me Laugh Out Loud Not A Great Song By Any Stretch But If You're Looking To Laugh Fancy My Chances With You Will Accomplish That A Song So Bad That It's Good However When Asked How He Felt About The Project John Starts Strumming His Guitar And Singing How He Likes The Idea Rather A Lot Obviously We Should Concentrate On The Sound It's Weird It's Definitely John The Only Difference Between These Two Songs Is That John Meant To Be Funny And Get A Laugh Which He Did Paul Singing Fancy My Chances With You Was Dead Serious Hoping It Would End Up On The Album The Rest Is Songs That Ended Up On The Album Or They Were At Least Attempting To Get On They Are A Fun And Educational Listen One Of My Personal Favorites Is Dig A Pony Beginning And Ending With All I Want Is You
And Now For The Part Of The Review That Most Fans Are Waiting For Disc 4 The Get Back CD Which Was Let It Be When Glyn Johns Was Producing Before Phil Spector Got His Overproducing Little Hands On It Despite What John Said That The Tapes Were Unlistenable Until Phil Spector Got Ahold Of Them However That's Not Completely True But He Did Make Some Decisions That Were Right On But So Did Glyn Johns But Until Now Glyn Johns Versions Of The Recordings Weren't Available And Now That They Are I'd Like To Recommend Some Glyn Johns Replacements For Some Of The Phil Spector Ones But There Are Also Ones I Recommend You Just Leave Alone And I've Got To Say As A Man Whose Been Listening To Let It Be In It's Original Form Since I Was 14 Years Old I'm Not Sure I Can Be As Completely Unbiased as I'd Like But I Am Sure As Heck Going To Try Most Of The Songs Are The Same As What's On Let It Be Except For The I'm Ready/Save The Last Dance For Me Medley Which Is Just A Jam Session That's Done Well Don't Let Me Down Which Is A Great Single Which Was Originally Intended For The Album And The Infamous Version Of Teddy Boy Where John Becomes A Square Dance Caller Which Adds Nothing To The Song Except Laughter And Levity Other Than These The Song List Is Identical To Phil Spector's Track List But The Songs Are In A Different Running Order And Some Were Mixed Differently
This Version Of The Album Starts Off With One After 909 Which Is What Phil Spector Probably Should Have Done But Hey Two Of Us Is A Great Song Too And I Would Really Miss The Album Opening With John's Hilarious I Dig A Pygmy Line But In 2021 I 'm Sure This Could Be Moved To Just Before The Start Of One After 909 But To Suggest That Seems Like Beatle Blasphemy Because It Was One Of The Tracks Culled From The Rooftop This Was Not One Of The Tracks That Phil Spector Touched Up And Therefore Sounds Exactly The Same As The Original
The Second Track Is The I'm Ready/Save The Last Dance For Me Jam Session Which Is Fun But Since There's Nothing To Compare It To On The Phil Spector Version Of The Album We'll Move On
Don't Let Me Down Was Originally Meant To Be On The Album But Phil Spector Cut It And It Got Relegated To A Single Which Was A Shame But I Digress
Dig A Pony The Same Version Minus John's Vocal Flub From The Rehearsal Disc That Begins And Ends With All I Want Is You Why Spector Cut That From His Version Is Beyond Me But Since I'm Not A Music Producer I Don't Feel Qualified To Question His Creative Choices Merely To Validate The One We Would Have Gotten If Glyn Johns Had Been The Producer Also Before The Song Starts John Tells Paul We'll Do This One And Go Straight Into I've Got A Fever LOL
I've Got A Feeling This Is One Of The Live Recordings That Spector Didn't Touch No Changes Same Old Musical Argument We've Always Known And Loved I've Got A Feeling/Everybody Had A Hard Year
Get Back The Glyn Johns Full Version As It Was Meant To Be Heard Complete With The Get Back Loretta Speech Which Of Course Spector Messed Up By Cutting Off After The Ooh The Song Could Have Finished And Then There Could Have Been The Applause And John's I'd Like To Thank You On Behalf Of The Group And Myself Speech But Thanks To Phil Spector Get Back Loretta Is Only Available On The Single
For You Blue This Is One Where Phil Spector's Version Is Better The Slide Guitar From Both Versions Is Great But Spector Added That Wonderful Electric Piano Part That's Just The Cherry On The Sundae
Teddy Boy While I Love The Song Teddy Boy I'm So Glad That Phil Spector Cut This From The Album Don't Get Me Wrong It's Not Terrible I Just Prefer The Version From McCartney Where John Isn't Fantasizing About His Alternate Life As A Square Dance Caller 😆
Two Of Us Not Much Is Different Other Than A Line In The Middle Of The Song Is Flipped And Paul Says Take It Phil To John Right Before The Last Verse As A Nod To The Everly Brothers Not Necessarily Bad Things Just improved The Song On Spectors Version By Their Absence
Maggie Mae Same Song Same Recording Three Different Discs But It's Actually One Of My Favorites So I'm Not Complaining But Some People Will
Dig It I For One Find This Four And A Half Minute Version Of Dig It Where The Classic Bit Comes In The Middle Of The Song Very Entertaining And Interesting And Am Going To Add It To My iPhones Let It Be Album But I Think I'm Safe In Assuming That Most Will listen To It Once And Run Screaming Back To Phil Spector's 53 Second Version Of This Song Which Is OK By Me Not Everyone Is Going To Want A Four And A Half Minute Version Of Dig It
Let It Be This Is The Glyn Johns Version With Billy Preston's Organ Solo I'll Stick With The Original Album's Electric Guitar Solo By George Harrison
The Long And Winding Road I Know This Is The Version Paul McCartney Always Wanted And The Original Artists Wishes Should Be Respected However The Original Version With The Chorus And Strings Will Always Be My Favorite Sorry Paul No Disrespect Intended
Get Back (Reprise) Needed So We Don't Lose The Thank You On Behalf Of The Group And Myself Speech
Disc 5 Glyn Johns Let It Be EP Two Of The Songs Don't Let Me Down And Let It Be Were Mentioned On The Get Back Album However The First Two Songs Are Considered A Part Of Phil Spectors Let It Be Album So Let's Deal With Those Two
Across The Universe Stick To Phil Spector's Version From Disc 1 This Is The Version Glyn Johns Mixed For John Lennon To Give The World Wild Life Fund With The Annoying Chipmunky Voices
I Me Mine Not Looking To Start A Fight But The Glyn Johns Version Of I Me Mine Is Great The Beatles Sing I Me Mine Through Once And It Ends When Phil Spector Got Hold Of It And Repeated The I Me Me Mine And Final Verse It Became A Bit Much
