Philippians was written to the church in Philippi. There are incredibly rich passages about Jesus’s sacrifice and how suffering is to be expected in our lives, for Christ is above every other kind of authority. People in authority don't like that. Loyal followers of those people don't like that. Yet in that suffering, there is always hope. There is always a reason to be grateful because God provides for us in ways we do not expect, and in moments we need it most. He is able to continue the work that he started in each of us, and no other authority can stop it. He grows in us a deep character of love and grace as we walk through difficulties and experience his care personally. It opens our eyes to the reality of what really brings salvation, not big armies or lots of money or major influence, but sacrificial love that opens the door to a relationship in which you are fully known and welcome to come as you are.

By his grace we are saved through faith...Ephesians 2:8-9

In Christ,

Adam
