A Boy and his Dog: The All American Boy Series Kindle Edition
Medically separated from the Army, bomb tech Grant Calloway will stop at nothing to track down his former K9 partner. But the lady doctor who's adopted Mojo doesn't want to let him go.
If Dr. Hope Hernandez were any more exhausted, she'd be the one on the gurney. Her drive for perfection leaves her scrambling to juggle an insane ER schedule, studying for boards, and her boyfriend—whoops! Ex-boyfriend.
Fine. One less thing demanding her attention. Hope buries her pain in work. The truth is she’d get more affection from a dog, with less risk to her heart. Safe and uncomplicated. The second she sees the forlorn, retired military K9, Hope falls hard: he's sad and alone, just like her. They head to Colorado, aiming for a fresh start—if she can score the coveted ER job. Yet when a scorching hot veteran shows up to lay claim to her dog, he disrupts her careful plan. He's anything but safe—he’s dynamite. And he's oh, so wrong if he thinks he can charm Hope into giving up her loyal companion.
Bomb disposal technician Grant Calloway's whole life blows up after an IED detonates at a Kosovo parade. He and his working dog, Mojo, save hundreds with their off-duty heroism, but reality bites hard: Mired in red tape, then bounced out of the Army for hearing loss, Grant's blindsided when Mojo's adopted out by a civilian who won't understand the needs of a military-trained dog. Grant's best friend deserves better. Grant turns his back on a lucrative job and instead hits the road for Colorado to track down his dog.
He thought finding Mojo would be the hardest part, but the woman who took him won't listen to reason, and Grant's charm has no effect. Refusing to be diverted by her big brown eyes and gorgeous smile, Grant lays siege to reacquire Mojo—by whatever means necessary.
A Boy and his Dog is a steamy, standalone enemies-to-lovers medical / military romance novella. It contains profanity and sex scenes.

Review
"I honestly cannot tell you the level of warm and fuzzies this book gave me. This is a book about animal lovers. Two people who loved the heck out of one clever, adorable, hardworking doggo and it melted my heart. The mix of steam and drama and thrill, alongside an enemies-to-lovers trope that didn't overrun or get ridiculous was so much fun to read..." ARC reader KM, Goodreads
"A lovely story of a retired K9 loved by both his current and former owner and their battle for full ownership. The story draws you in to the emotions of both characters so you really connect with them... A beautiful story of two great characters and their dog mixed with humour, family, rivalry, love and romance." -- AR, Goodreads
"Loved this book! ... an awesome book with a heartwarming and happily ever after ending." -- early reader A, Goodreads
"I love the emergency room scenes and Mojo the recovering Explosive Ordinance Disposal dog pulls it all together. Loved it. One of my favourite books of 2021." -- TJ, Goodreads

About the author
I write the things I love to read: steamy, fun stories about ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances, smart women and men who aren’t jerks. I like to read about friendships, either close women or a good bromance. I want all the feels: the thrill of a smoldering gaze or the barest brush of fingertips, the shocked gasp at the underhanded villain, the angst of heartbreak, the joy of reunion, and of course, happily ever after!
I enjoy a sneak peek into intriguing groups, whether that be military personnel, medicine, or another culture like Greece. It’s fun to live vicariously and go sailing, diving, or rock climbing. A bit of danger always gets me going, so many of my Romances have a thriller subplot. I also write thrillers with a slow-burn romantic subplot.
I love humor and am partial to witty banter and embarrassing situations! Love is funny sometimes!
I hate to read the same old thing, with only the names and places changed, so my goal is to bring you a fresh, fun, NEW story every time, with NO CLIFFHANGERS!
More than anything, I want a rollicking, great story that I can’t put down, one where love prevails in the end, one that will whisk me away from my own tribulations.

After their last very unexpected “assignment” in Kosovo, Staff Sergeant Grant Calloway is sent home stateside with injuries but he lost Mojo, his Belgian Malinois, bomb sniffing dog par excellence! What happens when he finds Mojo is now “Baby” to a “Pretty Girl” he’d like to get to know?
Really cute, just-enough-steam romance. What I liked most is that Hope’s mother has always said she would never find a man who would be willing to be second to her career, income and status. Well, her mom never counted on a man like Grant who is secure in his masculinity enough to allow Hope to be the alpha in their pack. Not to say that there is smooth sailing. Nope. There are problems initially, a potentially dangerous situation and misunderstandings that almost ruin everything. Grant may not be the alpha but he sure knows how to make Hope swoon. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens and I’ve just bought another book by Ms. Holiday. I love her writing style. Well-written, fast-paced and swexy.
A young woman going for her residency at a hospital in Bear Creek. She looks for a dog to keep her company.
He is trying to find his dog when he leaves the hospital and traces it to Colorado....
I'll say no more about the book except it was beautifully written and the characters were believable.
I actually listened to a complimentary audio version of this book from the author through Story Origin. The narrator did a mixed job in my opinion. She was very pleasant to listen to. And oddly enough, her male voice was so sexy and enjoyable, I fell for him big time. I really do think she could have put more expression into the exciting parts, tho,, and made the story even better. 4 stars for her because she really did do a nice job.
I loved this book. Chloe delved into the relationship between "A Boy and His Dog," by taking the reader through the training and process of a military K-9 bomb squad. The "boy" in the military would be Grant. The woman in the relationship, Hope, is an emergency room doctor, and the ease with which Chloe writes about both lifestyles conveys on the reader a life-like experience. After reading this book, you know what it's like in both arenas. The relationship between the two main characters develops and it was a pleasure watching it grow. They have chemistry together and the book comes to a very satisfying ending.
Highly recommended.

Packed with a suspenseful dangerous situation, steamy sexy times, work drama and a few twists the novella kept me engaged and entertained. The story's serious issues were balanced with its realistic warm and humorous supporting cast, so there were lots of fun and comic moments from the sharpness of Grant's fellow military, to Hope's long-suffering (because she wants grandkids) mother and her over protective father.
Overall, it's a quick and engaging read, a great way to relax and slip into the world of romance, where you can root for characters, or yell at them for not seeing what's in front of them and then finally sigh with satisfaction and pleasure when they get it together. Enjoy.
This is a voluntary review based on a free ARC copy and I liked it so much I bought a kindle copy.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the tension between Hope and Grant develop into a steamy love affair with a HEA. And Mojo? OMG he is the sweetest and he totally sucked me in. Beyond the wonderful characters, I loved the page-turning suspense and the insight into the doctor’s fast-paced, dog-eat-dog career.
If you enjoy steamy romance with lovable characters, this is the book for you.
