Day Shift - review

Today, it seems like every day there is a new movie. It can be very exciting but also expensive. If you add in transportation, tickets, concessions and tickets, a night at the movies can run to over $100 for a family of four. This is where dollar cinemas come in. Dollar theaters show second-run movies at a discounted price. This makes it more affordable to see the movies for those on a strict budget. While the prints may be worn and the sound may be distorted, this does not take away from the overall experience of seeing the film. You can also see films of low budget genres at dollar theaters, which may not be available in first-run theaters. You can find a great option for a cheap night out at your local dollar movie theater.

It's all we want now is escapism. What better form of escapism is there than a creepy horror comedy? The perfect film for these dark times is "Day Shift". It's raunchy, campy and full of cheap thrills. It's also very timely. The movie takes place in a world of vampires who have emerged from their shadows to live peacefully with us. Jody, played brilliantly by Vanessa Hudgens (the film's protagonist), quickly discovers that not all vampires have the same characteristics. Jody must determine which one is good or bad. She faces corrupt cops, nosy neighbours, and a host of other obstacles as she navigates the maze. It's an entertaining ride that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. Get "Day Shift," and watch it on Netflix. You won't regret it.

Bud begins the film by increasing his vampire hunting and earning $10,000 in less than one week. He is a Los Angeles pool cleaner from the lower classes who goes on a quest for vampires in order to steal their teeth and sell them for money. Bud was mentored in the vampire hunters’ union by Big John Elliott, aka Snoopdogg. Bud was expelled for rule violations and disciplinarian measures. In the film's opening act, Bud steps up his vampire hunting in order to earn $10,000 in less than a week. His efforts lead to him rejoining the union and earning the respect of the mentor.

Bud and his financial woes have no idea that there is a plot in the City of Angels. Audrey San Fernando (Karla Sauza) is the public face and owner of a rapidly expanding real estate business. Even though she is many centuries old, her superbly fitting power suits look great. "Day Shift" ("The Shift") may not be particularly subversive and satirical. However, it is funny to make the most terrifying vampire in the movie a real estate mogul. Audrey hopes to create an environment that is safe for vampires, and other bloodsuckers, by purchasing properties in Bud’s area. She falls in love with him when she discovers that he has murdered an old vampire and pulled her teeth. This is a (first article) very campy movie but worth it if Karla Souza is a fan.

I'm not sure if Day Shift is a great movie but it's definitely entertaining. It falls under the category of trashy movies, using classic tropes as well as cliches. There is also a lot if placeholder speech. It is however, well constructed. The cast try their best to make it seem like they are able to understand the joke. However, the fact that the situation is so absurd seems completely normal. This is a poor example of the skillful construction. Day Shift is an entertaining, funny movie worth your time.

Day Shift is the kind of movie that will have you on the edge of your seat. It's an action-packed, thrill-filled ride that is guaranteed to keep you wanting more. You'll feel like you've seen the same scenes over and over again in the first half. The movie isn’t predictable, but it’s not hard to see why. JJ Perry does an extraordinary job of keeping things interesting and new by drawing inspiration form some of the greatests, like Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead films and 1980s Hong Kong Kung Fu pictures. Every battle in this film is masterfully executed and will leave you on the edge of your seat. I was captivated by the drone footage at the beginning. It is one of my favourite visual moments. Day Shift should be seen by all action movie fans.

When Audrey and Bud have their respective stories intertwine, the movie really finds its feet. The film's perfect balance is achieved when Bud and Audrey's storylines intersect. You have to see the scene in which they fight zombies using motorcycles in a cemetery. It is amazing. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which is the best part. It is obvious that the movie was made with a lot fun by its creators. Dead Seven is a film that's equal parts crazy, violent, funny, and just plain weird.

Foxx does a great job in every role, including "Day Shift." He portrays a sardonic, action-oriented figure in this film that is reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger. His character is evocative of the classic action film genre. He is a tough guy who can kill ten foes before they can get their guns out of their holsters. Foxx's character is also a straight man who is somewhat puzzled by the events unfolding around him. This is a wonderful portrayal of the action film genre. Foxx is an outstanding actor, clearly enjoying his role.

Seth, a young vampire hunter, is played by Dave Franco. This job is more difficult than it appears and he realizes that he might not be as brave after all. He has the help and support of his mentor Snoop Dogg who plays a character very similar to Kris Kristofferson from the "Blade" films. Snoop is a great comedic relief in this movie and looks great in his Western gear. Seth is able to be the vampire hunter that he has always wanted to be by his help.
