Puchong landslide: Soil movement still detected at site, say cops


SERDANG: Soil movement was still detected at the scene of the landslide in Taman Wawasan, Puchong on Sunday (Dec 17) afternoon, police said.

"As of 3.30pm yesterday, land movement was detected, where the cement of several gates of houses there started to (be affected)," Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan said in a text message to the media on Monday (Dec 18).

"Work to install the 46 metal piles (to reinforce the earth in the area) will resume today. The situation is still being monitored," he added.

“We have officially closed the temporary relief shelter at MBSJ’s Laman Puteri 3 Multipurpose hall at 9pm last night, after the family of eight opted out," ACP Anbalagan said.

On Saturday (Dec 16) a landslide in Jalan Wawasan led to residents of seven houses in the area being evacuated.

Four vehicles were also damaged.
