Two drunk drivers cause a wreck on the interstate and tie up traffic for
hours. Is it aired? Maybe. Might get all of 10 seconds of air time. But you
include a semi truck in the story, it gets aired and made a big deal out of.
Even if a car runs into the back end of a semi, the story gets aired and the
trucker is blamed for the crash. Never fails. Two cars? Nobody gives a shit.

Had Ted Kennedy not been who he was, nobody would have ever even heard of
Chappaquidick.
What the hell is he guilty of? Leaving the scene of an accident. It has been
nearly proven he was not driving because his license was suspended at the
time. Why? Drunk driving.

So why does the gun issue get mentioned ALL the time?. Americans do

I think that the thing of American life being way too
automobile-centric is what the problem is. It's difficult to live
without a car, so of course everyone is driving. These people aren't
given enough of alternatives. I don't think it's because of "criminal
coddling", it's more related to a cultural problem of complacency and
laziness as I see it.

People accept this lie that every crash is an accident and so somehow
the deaths and injuries don't count.!!!!!

Many of the roadkill are people who were driving well. There's nothing
you can do if some idiot comes around a blind corner on your side
of the road, or if a large truck runs you off the road (to name but a
few examples).

Yeah - people are idiots for not realizing that and screaming about it.
You can easily be killed or mangled even though you are driving legally
and safely. It's russian roulette on our highways.
